Two-Ingredient Banana Pancakes
Hey guys!
So I’ve shared these pancakes before but I recently realized I didn’t have a proper blog post with dreamy, mouth-watering, and scrumptious pictures for you! This is way overdue, but now it can live FOREVERRRRR!
Okay, so you know how I feel about pancakes. I love them in every form imaginable, but my absolute favorite go-to is this one. I love eating them so much and best of all, it only has TWO INGREDIENTS.
Too good to be true, right?
Nope. Not even a little bit. These banana pancakes are the breakfast of my dreams (and soon-to-be yours, too!). I don’t even want to tell you how many I ate during my 90 Day Journey. Not sorry about it though.
The eggs in this recipe pack your morning with protein and healthy fats, while the banana fuels your body with healthy carbs, fiber and other nutrients. It’s enough for busy or lazy mornings, but also the perfect “blank slate” if you want to play around with toppings. I think these make an amazing post-workout snack, too!
Okay. Let’s get to the recipe, shall we?!
Banana Pancakes Recipe
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 eggs
Optional toppings: fresh fruit, nut butter, maple syrup, flax seeds, chia seeds
DIRECTIONS
- Mash the banana and egg together in a medium bowl. Your batter will be runny and will have a few chunks of banana left! Season with cinnamon, if desired.
- Heat a griddle or pan over medium heat. Melt 1/4 tsp butter on the pan. Drop pancakes on the hot griddle, using about 2 Tbsp of batter for each pancake. (these hold together better if they are small!)
- Cook for about a minute on each side. Serve warm with your favorite toppings!
Ahhh who knew something with only two ingredients could be SO PRETTY?! You’re gonna love these.
When you make these, tag me on Instagram or let me know in the comments! Mmmm, can’t wait to see!

Can’t wait to give these pancakes a try. I will be making them for myself and my 2 year old when I go shopping and pick up some more bananas.
What a delight to find this recipe again. Mainly looked it up to see if you changed anything. I have been following you since the early tumblr days and I still remember the first time I found this genius recipe and the countless times I made it with so many variations.. Adding ground oatmeal for some extra calories, vanilla, greek yogurt and honey sauce, it was a go-to for years, so this is also nostalgic for me. Keep up the great work! <3
Try some semisweet chips and vanilla and it taste like a dessert!
Thanks for sharing another wonderful pancake idea! I like it very much!

Thanks for the blog loaded with so much information. Stopping by your blog helped me to get what I was looking for.
So yummy
These are SO yummy
Just tried these and they are so yummy! I added a bit of vanilla thanks to some suggestions in the comments. I can’t believe how easy and simple it was. It was hard to flip them and they didn’t come out pretty but the taste was great! Thank you for sharing this great recipe!
These pancakes are good! I added cinnamon but vanilla would also be
good as would almond flavoring,or any number of flavorings. Like Cassey mentions, make them small as turning them can be a challenge as they tend to stick. The guys in my house also loved them!
Dear Cassey,
I am a sophomore in high school. I love to eat food that makes me feel good and, I absolutely love to do your workout videos. But for whatever reason I haven’t felt motivated to workout. I still eat relatively healthy food. But, whenever i work out I feel like I’m torturing myself and I feel totally deflated of confidence. I don’t understand why. Before I would workout and feel so strong and happy. Whereas now I just feel awful. Whats wrong with me? Where did that confidence go? Hopefully, you have some advice that will get me back on track.
Sincerely,
Deflated of Confidence
I like to add a little vanilla extract to this recipe! It’s very good. Thank you, Cassey!
Oooh fun!!!
i’ve made them before. they def don’t taste like ihop buttermilk pancakes but they’re still good, especially with fruit on the side
Have you ever used chestnut flour? It’s super common where I live in Italy, I just mix it with water and make little pancakes! Super nutritious, gluten-free and naturally sweet! Buonissimo, I recommend it.
I love these! I add oats to them along with the suggested cinnamon and they’re really good. A lot of peanut butter and maple syrup on top helps as well
do these actually work though? isn’t it just banana flavored eggs?
they don’t taste that bad but they always fall apart when i try to make them 🙁
Yes I’ve made them and they are so so yum!
honestly yes i add oats/quinoa to complete it, no hate towards cassey though maybe my meal preparations aren’t good haha
Miranda Kerr has a similar recipe – she adds some oatmeal to the eggs and banana. I tried them, they are delicious
Yes, they do work! I eat them all the time. You have to mix it in well.
They would be really good with some crushed almonds or pecans in them, too!
Ooooooh!
These are my favorite!!! I eat them almost everyday for lunch! So good!!!
Yummmm!!!
I’ve tried to make these a couple of times, and the batter is so thin and tender that the pancakes fall apart into little broken bits of mush and it is so tragic. Help! Luckily even as mush they still taste good with a topping of berries and coconut whip cream.
Hmmm that is odd! What ratio of banana/egg are you using?
Has anyone ever tried to substitute the two eggs with flax eggs before? I’m curious whether this also works. 🤔
