Hey guys!
Happy new month! (Said in the tone of “Happy new year!”) Well actually, there’s 12 hours left til October 1st for me, but I know some of y’alls from all over the world have started the new month already! Even though it’s getting chillier, I am a bit more than a tad excited for fall. It’s kinda weird. I love seeing the oranges, reds, and yellows. It’s almost comforting in a way. And then certain foods start appearing again…like Starbucks and their pumpkin spice lattes….Trader Joes and their brussel spouts. Ah! So lovely.
Anyway, here is your new #ABTOBERFEST calendar! (Like the name? Yeah? Yeah?) This month I decided to hone in on your core a little more and give you extra cardio ab days. Whatcha think about dat!!?? Be sure to check the bottom of this post for the daily playlists!
AND! To trick your body and get out of any possibility for a plateau…I am changing up your rest days! You’re going 5 days on and 1 day off. The rest days are colored in mint. On rest days you are to stretch thoroughly and also try the recipe listed. This will help ease your mind, relax you, and nourish you.
The Exclusive Vid this month is called Fat Incinerator Cardio! If it’s October in your country already, you’ll see the Exclusive Vid in the #ABTOBERFEST Calendar in your Blogilates iPhone app as the 1st workout on the 1st of the month! This workout is a HIIT style quick fat burn routine that will make you sweat. I was dying when we filmed this. Will be an EXCITING start to the month. The last day..HALLOWEEN…is a quick HIIT day!! I don’t know what your plans for Halloween but I think for many of us it involves scandalous costumes. Hahaha. Those parties are probably happening on Friday or the weekend so I’m giving you a FOR SURE fat melt right before you need to get into your outfit. Plus it’ll have you feeling confident and super energetic.

What ever you feel comfortable with! If you want to do a week of the Beginners calendar to see where you stand (strength wise) than that doesn’t hurt! Hey Guys! Can you tell me what kind of active am I by only doing blogliates calendar? I mean I want to calculate my BMR (AMR to be exact) and I need to know by how many I must multiply my BMR. So: moderetely active or very active?
I think that has to do with a lot of other factors besides just doing blogilates. What are you doing the rest of the day? Are you on your feet? Are you sitting at a desk? I think generally, to be very active, you have to be active throughout the entire day, not just when you work out.
agreed, id go with moderately active , or even lightly if you are really sedentary the rest of the day!
I’m not sure if anyone is feeling this but I am doing the monthly workouts for the first time and man I am really feeling it in the knees with all those jumping lunges. I used to have knee injuries and it has stopped hurting for the past few months but with all these high intensity workouts I find that my knee achey-ness is back. Does anyone feel this? And if you do, how do you solve it?
I’ve got the same problem, and I’ve been to the doctor with it. He said to feel when it hurts, and then stop. It’s a basic listen to your body, and stop when it’s starting to get painful. You don’t want to injure yourself.
What I like to do is that I won’t do the lunge or squat all the way, but stop at the point where it hurts, and then come back up. I know it doesn’t give you the full exercise, but as Cassey says everything counts 🙂

make sure your butt isnt above or past your front knee as well, it could just be bad posture but hope it feels better!

I’d imagine she does when she can considering her busy life, maintaining the whole of the Blogilates empire AND work as a pilates instructor. I say this in the least mean way possible, but really for a FREE workout program couldn’t you just take the 2 seconds to search for each video rather than post a rude comment? I mean, after all, this is FREE. Patience, friend, patience. She also was just traveling.
Today is hard WO-day! Man, I am so sore… Couldn’t finish part 2 of the summer slimdown, I’ll try it again this evening. Now I need a shower and some clean food.

Does anyone else have an issue with being strong enough to do moves, but extra fat getting in the way? My pooch is constantly making these workouts SUPER difficult. I’ve started to eat clean recently and I’ve lost some of this weight, but I kind of want to know at least one other person has this issue.
I have that problem 2! i am good at working out. But i have fat getting in the way.
But i find it really hard 2 eat clean
You aren’t the only ones Kat and Sillie! It is super frustrating because it gets in the way. I often find myself modifying the moves to accommodate my big belly during a lot of the moves. I’ve been eating cleaner lately too and it has helped me to tighten up a little but I have a long way to go before me belly isn’t in the way anymore. We should just keep at it and maybe in a few months we will realize that this problem isn’t as big as it used to be!

I’ve been doing your videos for 2 years and I love them all!
I’ve turned 17 this year and I still have baby fat on me because im still
a growing teen so find it hard to lose weight! I eat clean most of the time like
salads and all that but I do eat a lot of healthy foods like dinner. I excersise around 30-50 minutes a
day depends what im doing I guess. I do boxing twice a week and runnin twice or three times a week.
Im wondering if I will ever be able to lose weight because my sister when she was a teen like me she had a little baby fat on her buy like a year after she finished school it lik vanshished mysteriously, she eats clean but doesn’t excerise as much as me. So im not sure if its genetics and that I should not worry about it now? x
If you’re concerned, talk to your doctor. But if your sister lost it that quickly, I wouldn’t worry too much. Weight gain/loss is largely genetics.

I started doing the october calendar on the 1st of ocotber, and i did the beginners calendar in august, and i realized, that my left leg is a litlle bit weaker than my other one. its not so visible but still i’d like to have even legs. Do you have any suggestions, ideas that could help me improve my left leg and make it equal to the other one?

Single-legged squats maybe? You could either do them as extra, or just do single-legged squats with your weaker leg every time you’re supposed to do squats in the workouts.

Hey Popsters!Can Someone help me figure out why do my right wrist hurt while I am working out??Its the region around the thumb that hurts the most!!I think it hurts the most when I am doing burpees!!Can some one please tell me what I am doing wrong??Thanks!
If you’re a beginner, you might be putting too much pressure on your wrists too soon. When I first started I underestimated how weak I (and my wrists) were so now I always have this sharp pain on my lest wrist whenever I do wrist intensive moves like ballerina twists or burpees that I can never explain but I know it’s there and it’s slightly uncomfortable. I’ve learned that it helps if you spread your fingers out starfish style and spread the pressure of your body weight over the ENTIRE hand and not just the palm. You can also use your fists instead of having your hands out 90 degrees and that really, really helps your wrists out. Always listen to your body! Stop doing the move if you know it’s doing you more harm than good. Hope this helps and good luck.

Remember the first step is to eat clean. A combination of cardio + abs + total body will get you toned up!
You could do the calendar or just put together an hour workout yourself, just keep in mind that you need to have a combination of strenght and cardio to get the results you want.! Check out Cassey’s FAQs
I’m doing the calender to improve my overall fitness. I weigh 110 pounds and am 5.5 and I’m pretty sure i don’t need to lose weight nor do I want to. Its hard coming onto sites and getting influences from other people because most people on here are trying and I find myself thinking I should lose weight too! Anyway I’m hoping to get toned from following this calender and nothing else. I run 1-3 times a week and run from 6-9km (depends on whether ive had a “YOLO” meal that day to be honest) Combining this with at least 30 min of pretty fast walking and this calender, should I be eating 2000 cal to maintain my weight???? Some sites have told me to eat 2500 and others 1600. If i go over 1700 i freak out and i have serious anxiety issues when it comes to food and don’t have much control. Overall however my diet is pretty clean, i eat tonnes of fruit and vege. I want to keep my metabolism pumping coz living off 1400 or whatever calories is no fun, I’m 18 and want to enjoy life and have a healthy relationship with food! Any feedback would be so much appreciated!xxxx
You should calculate your BMR first, it will tell you how many calories your body burns while in rest. That means just for vital body functions for an entire day. Never go below that calorie count so let’s say if you workout and burn 300 calories in a workout you should eat your bmr + 300cal so that your net is not below your bmr.
usually you tend to eat 1700-200 calories to mantain your weight, but everyone’s body is different.
Ps: If you want to tone up combine cardio with strenght exercises

You need at least 1900 calories per day to maintain your weight (on non-workout days). On days when you run, you should probably eat close to 2300 calories, and 2100 on days that you just do the Pilates. Or just average it out based on how much you’re working out.

I’m a little lost with all the titles. Are they titles to videos?!
Each checkbox on the calendar has the titles of her videos. If you print the calendar then you can search the workout title on YouTube. You can also few the playlist of her videos for the day if you go to the calendar directly on Blogilates.com and then scroll down you will see a link for each day. Hope this helps you out 🙂
Under calendar are the DAILY PLAYLISTS ( 1 October, 2 October…). You choose which day is today and click. Then you see a site with workout videos .

Started doing the calendars the last week of September and am loving it! However, should I aso be supplementing these workouts with cardio as well or will I lose weight by just doing the workouts alone? I know adding cardio to workouts will obviously be more effective, but I don’t a ton of time. I try to spin once or twice a week and go on crazy long hikes at least once a week but I truly hate running. I’m also eating super clean, yet I’m not seeing much results.. HELP ME PLEASE!!

OKAY!! Let me just say that this Calender is SOOO SUPA cute!!! ^.^ I am LOVING Fall and I need a DAILY routine!! I first started out with Amanda Russel (who is still amazing) with her workout plans but after 2 days she told me I had to sub for $10 or $50 for a year…..I did 2 of her workouts and they do work but when I started doing my own routine my leg started hurting :/ Iv known Cassey Ho’s workouts for a long time and have been waiting for these types of plans!! 99 cents a month is deffo affordable but better yet FREE!!! I have school to pay and things to buy and even tho $10 a month isnt bad I just think 99 cents is better! Amanda is planning to increase it once a month to probably $40 or more a month so its limited for now but thank God Cassey is FREE and always will be!!! 🙂

I know a yummy hot cocoa recipe!
1 tbsp cocoa
1 tbsp pure maple syrup
1 cup skim milk, almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk
Mix the cocoa and maple syrup to form a syrup, then pour in microwaved milk! Yum 🙂

So I am thinking I’ll want to have a baby in a few years… please Cassey make some videos for the pregnancy period… I don’t want to make a long pause then. And surely there are other pregnant ladies who would love that. Perhaps we won’t have that belly pooch or much extra fat after having the baby! Post pregnancy as well, of course.

The beginner’s calendar is to get you ready to follow the monthly calendars, so yes, you can jump right into October’s calendar. It will still be really hard, though.
When the calendar lists “new workout” does that mean she will be posting something new on the website that day?
Yes, she posts a new video on her youtube on that certain day 🙂
I am a beginner and I don’t know how should i do these exercises.I have to take short breaks between the videos or do a few in the morning and the rest in the afternoon.
Both of those are fine (the best of those methods is the one that lets you use the best form during all the videos, so you get the best results)
is it okay if i just start from the 5 oct ? since its already the 5th october ! or should i start from day 1 (oct1)???
start from whatever day you are on. don’t worry if you “missed” the first days
sooooo can anyone answer my question? ive been doing blogilates for a few months now, but this is actually my first month following a calendar. it may be a silly question, but i was just wondering on a day a song challenge is scheduled, do you do that song in between each other workout, or just that once? im sure it wouldn’t hurt to do it more than once at all, but there’s some days im not feeling as up to it lol. answers much appreciated <3
I just do it once. If it’s listed on the calendar to do it once then once 😀 If you want to do it after every video feel free to do so, but it’s not necessary ^^

I’m just wondering, could you possibly make a meal plan for people who are allergic to eggs, please? I have a sevcere allergy, and some of your recipes I really want to try because they sound so delicious, but I can’t because of my allergy. 🙁 If you could do this I will love you and your program for forever and an eternity (more than I already do :D)

hey kaycee! you are supposed to do all the videos listed for the day. but if it’s too hard for you just try the beginner’s calendar first, there are less work outs per day and it’s great for preparing your body to working out daily 🙂 hope i could help you!

Hi Cassey, i love to go running, could i go running and do the calender as well? i am actually trying to gain weight because i think i am to skinny.. but i want to gain muscle. do you think that would be to much cardio? i’ve just always been an active person..
As long as you eat enough calories, you should be able to gain weight doing that (try having a protein shake every night, made with milk and a banana – 300-400 calories depending on the protein powder).

Blogilates has really helped me! Everytime i’m about to eat a yolo meal, i think back to Cassey! And i normally exercise at night and that’s when i’m laziest, but whenever i don’t exercise, i feel really guilty! I haven’t really lost anything cause i’m always lazy but Blogilates has changed me for the better! And to the rest of you lovely people out there, i hope that you all achieve your goals and Cassey, if you do see this, i hope that you never stop what you’re doing! Take care everybody. (:

I’m so excited for this month not only is it my favorite month but also im gonna kill it in the workouts! I also love the color coordination with the “Abtoberfest” calendar, it’s like checkered in a way and totally feeling the season of fall with this calendar! LOVE IT!

I’ve downloaded the Blogilates app on my iPod as I don’t have an iPhone. I’ve paid for the monthly calendar but I’m unable to watch the exclusive videos. Every time I try to watch the vid, it crashes a few seconds in and closes the app. I had the same problem last month too. Is anyone else having this problem? I’m not sure how to fix this and I hate missing out.
I’m in exactly the same situation! I thought it might’ve been my internet connection so I didn’t persist but seeing as you’re on your ipod (like me) that might be the source of the problem? Sorry I don’t have a solution, but I would be keen to find out. Love the app though =D

its an exclusive video, so if you have the app and paid 99 cents this month you get access to her exclusive video.

A healthy, clean diet is 80% of weight loss. Also, you burn fat by gaining muscle. Pilates creates tone and lean muscle that is not bulky. I would suggest doing some research or trying the calendar for a bit to see if it works for you. xx
Hi all!! You all have such great feedback so I thought I would throw out a question. This is my first calendar I’m trying. The calendar does add on some cardio but I like to run (30-45 minutes and sometimes sprinting) so I would love to incorporate that into my schedule. For best weight loss results, how many times a week should I run while also attempting this calendar? Is is better to sacrifice one type of workout for the other or should I attempt both in one day? Are there better days to run than others?

I remember in one of Cassey’s videos she says that you should do cardio 3-4 times a week for about an hour. I really liked last month’s calendar because she put heavy focus on cardio. Also, I think it’s fine if you sacrifice a workout for another because this calendar is just a guideline for you when you don’t know what videos to do. Sometimes I take out a day and just do an hour of cardio vids 🙂 Hope that helped!
Yes!! So helpful, thank you! I read some more comments on other articles and it sounds like popular options are 1 hour of Cardio or a POP Cardio vid (or the food belly video) 4 times in a row. Now I’m just torn because I want to complete the whole calendar but I also want to run. This is a very positive rock and a hard place!! xx

I’m a runner too. I usually follow the calendar and run 3 or 4 times a week on days where Cassey hasn’t planned out a lot of cardio.
Do these workouts really help to get in shape? Cassey is athletic and enduring but her body isn’t perfect. She has a strong core … and a round tummy.
I’m sorry, but how is her tummy at all round in any way or form? And even if it was, that doesn’t mean she isn’t fit.

That’s just plain rude. First, if ‘athletic and enduring’ is not in shape, then I don’t know what is. Second, everyone’s ‘perfect body’ is going to be different, and normal people don’t have a perfectly flat stomach all the time. But if you insist on looking like an anorexic model then I suggest taking up the crazy diets Victoria’s Angels use to wreck themselves. Then at least we’ll be rid of your asinine comments.

As long as your symptoms are from the neck up, working out is okay! I actually find that it clears my congestion (albeit temporarily) when I work out with a cold

Hey Cassey! So i’m new to the POP Pilates and I just have a few questions. I’m doing the Abtober calender and i’m also doing your 90-day meal plan starting today. So my first question is: Do I only do the videos listed out for the day one time or do I need to do them more than once? Because I read on someone’s comment somewhere that you should either work out for an hour or do the moves 15 times. SO which is it? My second question is: I like to go to the gym. So would it be okay for me to do these workouts and also go to the gym. I would be doing 30 minutes of cardio (I believe the machine is called an eliptical-that is cardio but also works your legs) and then I would be doing weight machines. And I could always concentrate the weights on whatever we are working on that day. SO would this be okay or no? And my last question is: Since I am following the 90-day meal plan, and in that plan, every day we are supposed to drink a protein shake, do I save all my working out for that time of the day when i’m supposed to drink that, or can I workout whenever and drink the shake whenever??? How will this work exactly?

You do each of the listed videos for that day once and then tick it off. I’m not Cassey but I think additional workouts would be fine so long as you don’t overdo your self! You can drink the shake whenever or just switch a few of the meals around so that you have the shake after or before you work out.

Hello! I’m sorry and I know you have so much to deal with in your POP Pilates life, but I have a few questions.
I was wondering if I should do the workout videos all at once or throughout the day..I currently do one or two videos from the calender within half an hour of waking up to jumpstart my body, then I do the other videos throughout the day with a few hours inbetween. I feel like that’d keep my body working, it’s just like eating a little every few hours! Do you think that is better or worse than doing the videos all right when I wake up? Or does it not make a difference cuz either way I’m doing the same amount of work? (Although if it’s all at once, I’m gonna be dead tired by the time I’m done so that may be more work..)
Before I go to bed, I do fifty squats (should I do more? And do you have tips to do them cuz I really suck at it v.v) So that’s what I do for my exercise. I’ll start running every other night (I used to but I can never stick to a routine.) Is this enough exercise to lose weight?
I feel like I should be doing more, but I don’t want to overwork myself. I’m not new at this, and I’ve taken total body fitness classes in highschool, but nothing seems to help me lose weight. Although if I’m honest with myself, I need to fix my diet. So this month I will work on that! You motivate me so much, as with countless other people, and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate it!!
My other question is how do you get your legs so straight when you exercise? I find my legs are bent, so I lower them and make them as straight as I can then lift them up, which unfortunatly isn’t much when they’re straight..What do you do, or have you done, to make yourself flexible? I know stretching, but what specifically?
I REALLY want to do my absolute best this month, and if I get discouraged I’ll read the success stories POPsters have written and I’ll think about how much you motivate me and how much I look up to you and will eventually be able to workout like you do as long as I keep it up! you’ll lose weight if you go running and do monthly calendar! i guess its ok to do the videos separately but when you get more strenght try to do like two videos in a row etc! but you need to clean your diet too! 🙂 i think you should watch this video about how many calories you need if you want to lose weight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUybMyx4KBM) the video has helped me with my weight loss! 🙂
you can get your legs straight by stretching them regulary. i also have the same problem i cant get my legs fully extended. i have found casseys ‘stretching for flexibility’ and ‘how to do the splits’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmYanbqNSGA&list=PLSCcAGyv98ie1vVLwBTq4HgNMqrv3Aini) videos good for my legs! try stretching after pilates (thats what i do) but i guess you should do before and after. 😀 oh and its your hamstring what you should stretch!
you’ll find the right way to do casseys videos and healthy eating! it always takes time to create routines. do what feels best for you! =) keep up the good work! x

Need some honest answers : y m I nt losing weight while dress size is down by 1 pls? This not the ‘Plateau’ I’ve been hearing so much of???
Sometimes when you lose body fat, at the same time you gain muscle, especially if you’re working out a lot. Muscle is smaller than fat, so 1lb of muscle takes up a lot less space in your body than 1lb of fat. If you’ve gone down in your dress size, then you’ve definitely lost some body fat. I wouldn’t worry about it. If you continue to lose body fat, the scale will start to go down, but really, measuring yourself is sometimes a better indicator of fat loss than weighing yourself.
Since muscles weigh more than fat, it’s not even sure that the scale will go down that much..

I really depends on how you feel, how active you are. But I’d suggest to try the regular calendar first, you never know, maybe the beginner’s one is too easy for you 🙂 If you can’t keep up with the monthly calendar, swithch to beginner one and you’ll be ready in no time 🙂
I’m so excited for this month! I started working out two months ago but was just telling a friend over the weekend that I feel like I haven’t made any improvements with my abs. ABTOBER is exactly what I need right now. 🙂
Do you all do cardio in addition to these workouts? I know in the past in her videos she has always said do the toning videos with a little bit or cardio. Is that still the case on the calendar or is cardio already taken into consideration?? I’d apprecaite any advice!!

I think that it is not necessary to do any additional viodes to the ones she listed to each day unless you want to 🙂
Didn’t end up finishing the beginner’s calendar, but I’m DYING to get started on this one, so I’m ditching it, and printing the new one!
OMG! I have been dying ’cause the blogilates app is not available for android, but now… Can’t wait for the app to come for android too ! I live in Finland so it’s already pretty cold in here and it’s raining pretty much all the time. That’s why I’m even more excited because of these pop pilates videos ’cause I don’t have to feel so bad if I don’t feel like running in the rain 😉 .

Done! Yay me! 😀 This is my third calendar, but it’s the first one that I got to start on time, and hopefully the first one I’ll be able to fully complete also on time. XD I’ve decided to tweak it a bit though. I wanna workout my abs and butt on alternative days, so today, I replaced BB3 (bcoz I dont like the paper plates thingy :P) with the Bubble Butt WO. Tomorrow, I’ll be adding or replacing one vid with an ab routine.

Is it alright to include POP HIITs in addition to what the calendar says, or would that hurt rather than help progress?
It’s perfectly alright to add Pop HIITs, but you should have the extra time since most of them takes about almost an hour long to complete, same as the WOs for each day. I suggest doing any HIITilates vids, Food Baby or other shorter HIIT workouts instead if you dont have the time. I’ve also read before that some Popsters add Pop Cardio on their daily workouts. 🙂

Yay!! Are you supposed to do each video once or each video several times? I’ve noticed that the videos usually say to repeat x times.
If you’re doing the calendar, then no. If you’re choosing videos on your own to target a certain area or something, then yes, it’s what she recommends.

And I’m planning on following the calendar this month, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to stick with it. I’m doing a 30 day squat challenge, a 30 day running challenge (that I made up myself to get me to be able to run for 30 minutes straight – I hope it works), and a 30 day vegan challenge (I think I might be lactose intolerant, so I’m giving my body a break for a while before I add dairy back in to make sure).
I’ll be doing either Heart on Fire Pop Cardio or Food Baby in lieu of Fat Incinerator. The Fat Melting Routine or Pop Kicks Total Body are also good choices. Your 30min. running challenge would be great as well! 🙂

Hi, I’m excited to start this calendar! I’m wondering though, if its sufficient to just do the workouts listed each day, or should I still do my weight machine routine? I’m overweight and do the usual legs one day, arms the next, and alternate as such.
Soo glad this month we don’t have to do any of the Pop HIIT printables. I prefer to follow along with videos especially since I loose track of counting reps easily. Also glad there are more relax days with some being on the weekend, I needed a good weekend day off from all kinds of work. Thanks Cassey!
