Nikki! Transformation!
Hey POPsters!
I had the chance to meet some amazing women this weekend at the NYC Meet Up and I want to share one of their stories with you.
When Nikki came up to me with her fiery red hair, contagious smile, and colorful aura – I immediately felt there was something special about this girl. Then she told me she had lost 50 lbs using my vids.
My jaw dropped and my heart stopped for a moment.
Nikki inspired me so much and I want you to hear her story.
Hey Cassey!
It’s Nikki, it was such an honor to meet you at the Blogilates meetup today in NYC! (I was the redhead with the ridiculously colorful shirt, haha.) You asked that I send you my story, and it would be my pleasure 🙂 So here goes!
I had always been on the chubby side growing up, but with the stress and pressure of entering high school my weight ballooned. By mid-junior year, my weight was at its highest and my esteem was at its lowest. I knew I wasn’t happy, but I didn’t feel I truly had the power to change – I would hit the treadmill for a week, then go to a party and gorge on cake and feel I had wrecked everything! The cycle went on for a few months, until I had a pretty embarrassing experience – I was jean shopping with a bunch of friends, when I realized none of the sizes in the store would fit me! The sales associate had to go in back to get the stretch-pants, and I was absolutely mortified (funny enough, I mentioned this incident to my friends a year later, and none of them even remembered it! Helps to put things in perspective.)
Anyways, I needed something like that to really jolt me into taking getting healthy seriously. I had planned a trip to visit friends in NYC six weeks from then, so I set a short-term goal to be as healthy as possible up until that point and see what would happen. Lemme tell you, that first month was NOT easy – it was tough baking cupcakes with everyone and not eating them, or making time for the gym with my busy school schedule. Around the fifth week, I stumbled upon one of your videos (Inner thigh insanity!) and even in that ten minute clip, your optimism and positivity really inspired me. That night I must have watched a dozen of your videos, and you helped me to see fitness and eating clean as something fun and exciting, not as a painful chore. My mindset had to change before anything physical could change. After those first six weeks, I had already started to see some results, but more importantly I saw a dramatic increase in my mood – it’s true when they say you are what you eat, and to this day I still think my favorite thing about eating clean is how energized and happy I feel when I have the right fuel in me! Anyways, I stuck with being healthy (and doing tons of blogilates videos!) throughout the rest of the school year and the summer, and the pounds continued to come off. By the first day of my senior year, I had lost 30 lbs, and I’ll never forget that feeling walking into school and literally seeing my classmates’ jaws drop. A few of them didn’t even recognize me! My weight loss journey was a longer one, and it took the rest of the school year for me to eventually lose another 20 lbs, reaching my weight loss goal of just over 50 lbs in a year and a half 🙂
Fast forward to present-day, I’m just finishing up my freshman year in college…still an avid POPster, and I’ve gotten the girls on my floor into blogilates too! It’s become a nightly routine for us, and it’s so much fun to sweat it out with friends.
Getting healthy was BY FAR the best thing I have ever done for myself, my only reget is not doing it sooner. Not only do I have more confidence but my outlook on life completely changed, and I realized anything really is possible if you do it with enough passion! I never thought I would be the one with a success story, and it’s still so humbling whenever anyone asks me for advice. Of course I never would have gotten here if not for all your incredible workouts and recipes! I can’t thank you enough for all that you do, you are a true inspiration!
I’ve attached my before and after picture (taken January 2011 and July 2012) and our picture from the meetup today (so cute!)
Once again, thank you!
Much love,
Nikki Joseph

I personnaly think she is beautiful on both photos, but seem healthier on the second picture, if only because of a better posture! Glad that she’s so happy now 🙂

Good day! This is kind of off tokpic but I need some advice from an established blog.
Is it very hard to set up your own blog?
I’m not very techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast.
I’m thinking about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to
start. Do you have any tips or suggestions? Cheers
Wow, well done!!!!!!
Nikki,
you look sensational, congratulations!
what i love about pop pilates is that not only does it help you loose weight and tone up. it then helps you maintain that body we’ve all worked so dam hard for and your story proves this, thanks Nikki.
and Thanks Cassy for all your hard work!! it must be a hard but rewarding job.

First of all, you need to start by creating “Follow” and “Pin It” buttons on your website.
For example, if you’re a web designer, and your market is likely to eat at the local Chinese restaurant that has a community bulletin board, your flyer should be posted there.
On the contrary, Blogs are extremely popular in niche crowds,
and people use RSS feeds (to the minute alerts of your actual blogs) to
see what new and interesting blogs have been
posted surrounding their topics of interest.
This is so inspirational! n.n
Can anyone please tell me how long is it too see results? I’m currently on the 23rd day of the beginner’s calendar. Seeing these before and after stories just make me so motivated to lose weight. So far, there’s no change but I’m trying! I’m 14, 5’2.5, and 146 pounds at the moment.
Wow me to I’m 14, 5,2 and 150lb. We should lose wight together!
This is so funny! I’m almost the exact same, except I’m barely 5’2″ and I just turned 15 in September 🙂 I actually lost about 13 pounds by interval walking every other day and eating slightly healthier, and also doing Cassey’s vids, of course, whenever I could. This was over a two month period or so I believe? It was around May.
Anyway, I’ve probably gained all that back over the summer because I spent it at my grandma’s, but I’m trying to get into the routine again of interval walking one day and then Pilates the next. Can’t wait for the December 12 week plan!!!
16 years old 5’3 150lb. We WILL lose weight and get healthy! Don’t lose your goals 😀
Keep it up girls, you are worth it! I’m 15 years old, 5’2 and 141lb. I’m so motivated of reading all of your comments and good luck to keep your goals, don’t lose them! :)<3
All I can say is everyone is different!! For example it took me twice as long as some of my workout buddies to see any differences in myself and I got discouraged sometimes, but in the end I made sure I stuck to it and eventually I did see results. Also its helpful not to think of your weight as “fat” or “skinny” – since muscle weighs more than fat in volume – you may end up staying at the same weight but looking super toned!
Keep to it!!
Quick question: how much do you guys work out? I’m 21 and married and really do not have more than 30-45 minutes per day to work out. I also struggle with motivation. I do eat really healthy (was diagnosed with mild Lupus at 17 and since then I am a total health nut), but I generally only get anywhere between 20 – 40 minutes of exercise in, 5x per week. I’ve been doing this for about 6 months (actually, the first month I started off with only 5 minutes per day, the next month 10, and now I am approximately in month 3 of doing at least 20 minutes 5 days a week)…I am noticing SOME change, but it is obviously happening veeeery slowly. We can’t afford a gym right now so I just have my mat and a couple of weights.
I’m wondering if my goal to eventually work up to being super fit and seeing definition is unrealistic with my at-home “equipment” and having no more than 45 minutes to dedicate to exercising per day?
I’m not a health professional or anything (I’m only a couple of months in to my own fitness journey), but I would say your goal is attainable, it will just take a lot longer than someone who has more time to dedicate to it. But slow isn’t always bad. Usually results achieved at a slower pace are more easily maintained than when they’re done at a faster pace. I would recommend increasing things like weights or intensity the more you get in to it though. If you did the same exact thing all the time, eventually you would probably stagnate. They also say that even if you break up your exercise throughout the day (5 minutes here, 10 minutes there), its just as effective as doing it all at once. So if you’re cooking dinner, or watching tv, work in some exercises. I like to do some “cooking cardio” which is basically just me dancing around in the kitchen when I’m cooking. Or I’ll do heel lifts or squats or something while I’m standing at the stove. And most of Cassey’s videos are only around 10 minutes long (and her song challenges are only the length of a song) so those are quick additions to squeeze in somewhere. But as long as you are exercising, that’s whats important!
This is really inspiring. I used to eat McDonald’s and Taco Bell every single week & I noticed I was getting chubbier each day. I didn’t realize it until my shirts didn’t fit me anymore. That’s where I knew eating fast food every week had to stop. I started to eat healthy (well i tried) & it was hard for me. I saw Cassey’s video (eating clean). I watched the rest of her videos and did popilates. I’m doing the Beginners workout Calender. I’m barely on Day 5 and my whole body is in pain, but it’s worth it. I’m eating clean and I’m officially a POPster! 😀
good luck 🙂
OMG! This is really inspiring. I really want to be like Nikki. I am also one of those chubby girls who wants to be skinnier, but after reading this, it gave me so much hope. Thank you. I might try what she did too. And I hope I succeed like her. Good luck to me and to everyone who has the same situation as me. P.S i love this blog. More power! xx
Oh my god !!!! I’m crying right now because it’s exactly how i feel and it’s like people like to see me being hurt about my weight !!
But now i’m so into it and i can not do pilates fin a day !! I love you Cassey and Nikki <3
So inspiring! Made me tear up!
this is really amazing! and it inspires me so much to keep going and do more exercises with cassey but i must admit this that i find it really REALLY hard to not eat all the foods i want 🙁 and i’m not glad with that :/ …. can someone give me some advise on how to control this feelings and stop my loving for FOOD!!!????!! xx 🙂
What works best for me is before you are about to eat food that you don’t need is just think to yourself, “Do I REALLY need this? Am I REALLY hungry, or am I just bored?”
Also try to think about how you will feel about it later. If you eat the junk food your going to think, “oh man, i really shouldnt have eatin that.” but if you choose something healthy you will feel so much better and your body will thank you! 🙂
For me it also helps to take a multivitamin in the morning that way you know for sure you’ve gotten all the vitamins you need for the day. A lot of the time cravings seem to stem from a vitamin deficiency. The days I have the worst cravings are the days I forgot to take my vitamin in the morning. I’m not a doctor or anything (yet) but that’s just what works for me :D.
I understand your challenges because I struggle with eating healthy. I find that most people can plan their meals, but it’s the snacks that really get them (and then they race for the vending machine chips & soda). My tip is to not even buy these foods and instead replace them with healthy alternatives. Instead of chips, buy some peanuts, or hummus and carrots. ALWAYS give yourself ample healthy snackage. Bring a carton of fresh strawberries, blueberries….or whatever to work & snack on those instead. DO NOT look at the vending machine!!! Also drink warm liquids (like tea) to help curb hunger; I drink hot liquids about an hour before a meal time so I don’t fill myself before lunch & throw off my eating schedule 🙂 Finally, I agree with Junie, find a multivitamin and use it! Mine is a 2x/day though so I take one at night and in the morning so I have a continual release of healthy support!
Good luck!!
what i always do is think, “do I want to eat delicious, or look delicious?” it helps 🙂
I LOVE FOOD. LOVE IT.
I’ve found that the more I eat healthy, clean, and real foods (I try to eat at least 75% raw), the more I want those and the less I want junk. Whenever I do want something sweet, I grab a single date (medjool dates are the best! so sweet!) I also make raw sweet treats sometimes (like raw brownie bites, or homemade raw chocolates) because I can eat one and feel much less guilty than if I grabbed a candy bar. I also LOVE making a choco-berry sorbet. Just frozen berries, raw cacao powder and raw milk (or nut milk) all blended together into a frozen delight! Sometimes I’ll add a little raw honey or a date for sweetness. I also love kale chips as a sub for regular chips.
Try not to let yourself get to the point of feeling like you’re starving. If that means having small snacks (like in Cassey’s meal plans), do it, if possible. I know once I get to the point that I feel like my stomach is eating itself, I’ll shovel anything in my mouth I can get my hands on! And most importantly, don’t deprive yourself. If you find yourself obsessing about a particular food and substitutions just aren’t cutting it, let yourself have a little bit of it and eat it slooooow. Enjoy it. Ice cream is my weakness. So I don’t keep it in the house, but when my sorbet just doesn’t cut it and ice cream has plagued my every waking thought for multiple days, I go to the local ice cream shop and get the smallest cup they have of the real stuff and savor the hell out of it.
You look great and your smile is gorgeous in both pictures :)!
I was so surprised to read this. I’m loving all these before and after pieces!! It’s amazing how pilates and Cassey <3 is helping everyone to be more confident. I'm 13 and trying to tone up and loose a bit of weight for my new school, and this story has inspired me soooo much. Can't wait to start, so excited!! xx
Good luck to you at your new school. I’m also 13 and i started these videos about a year ago. they are just amazing.
So great to hear! And it’s true; your enthusiasm is contagious and even though books and gurus have said to make “healthy living” part of a lifestyle as though it’s a punishmend, you make it seem like a fun hobby that we GET to do, not HAVE to do!
Hello! I would like to say well done with achieving your loss of body weight!! You look amazing for it. I would like to ask you two questions..
How many videos did you watch a day?
How many Workouts did you do a day?
Nikki! I find your story so incredibly relateable. I have always been on the chunky side growing up and then high school made it even worse between the struggles of growing up and classes i just ballooned. My friends never cared and have always said I am beautiful but I just was not feeling it. I do not feel confident in my body at all, I look around and see my friends around me, even my boyfriend and everyone is smaller or weighs less than i do and even though they all see nothing wrong with me i do. I need to get on the healthy track of living. I need to make that Lifestyle choice. and I have actually. I now work at Golds gym in the Child care part helping children and try to hit the gym when I can however its not always good working at the gym. You’ve been there all day the last thing you wanna do is spend another 2 hours at work when you get off. Bubzbeauty introduced me to Casey and her videos and after subscribing for a little while I am now taking the plunge and tomorrow i Start My beginner calender workouts. I’m super excited
Congrats~~Gosh,I can’t believe my eyes when I saw the last photo! I wanna be like you!
Wow! Nikki! You look amazing! Congratulations! You really deserve your great new body. You are an inspiration to us all!
This is truly amazing, wow seriously! You look soooooo good and so happy! You’re a real inspiration, Nikki, congrats 🙂
OMG! That’s really amazing XD congrats Nikki! I got really inspiration !!!yeah keep going guys!!
I just looked at her before&after photos and I’m right now am somewhere in between. Now I know, if she could do it I can as well! This post has been so inspiring for me to get off my computer and start changing my life.
Wow this is so awesome!!
You go girl! Thank you for your beautiful and inspiring story and congratulations on such a big accomplishment! 🙂
how long did it take you to reach your current weight?
if you care enough to ask, actually read the article. she said a year and a half
WOW Nikki.. I have just started with my blogilates routines and you inspired me to keep it up.. I was a bit doubtful about having a body like Cassey’s. But after seeing your before-after pic, now I know IT IS POSSIBLE to be super sexy just by doing pilates routines.. Thanks for sharing your story.. And Thanks Cassey for your vids.. I’m gonna the floor right now… Xoxoxo
I am amazed! I have never been so motivated! I continuously watch Blogilates videos as well as before and after videos! I JUST discovered POP Pilates a little more than a week ago, and I finished my 8th day workout on the Beginner’s Workout Calendar today! Congrats Nikki! Keep up the good work and may you prosper along with Blogilates and Popsters!
Wow, I just started yesterday and this inspired me even more. I am so, so excited. Thanks for sharing your story Nikki, you look absolutely lovely.
Omg, WOW! I’m feeling very motivated right now. I need to lose 10 kg and I’ve just started pilates for beginners, day 1. It was super tough but now I see I can’t give up. Thank you for your inspiring story.
She’s totally gorgeous right now. Omg
My jaw literally dropped. You look fantastic! Honestly, have you ever considered modeling?
Anyway, thank you for being such an inspiration to us! These transformation pictures are really helping me to keep going.
Hey Nikki I am so happy for you! It’s great to get to see others transform. Just one thing that I don’t want to see make you sick, that one little regret you have about not doing this sooner. Although we don’t always see and understand from where we are at, there is a reason for everything, and I know one day you will be nothing but grateful and at peace about every bit of your experience. God’s timing is perfectly tailored to his perfect plan. 🙂 Much love!
Ang
Congrats – your smile is beaming! I know this has nothing to do with anything, but I love how your photo is taken in front of Shake Shack. I think that may be the THE single worst place for eating healthy (because it’s soooooooo good!). Hope you enjoyed a milkshake and one of the incredible mushroom burgers – you deserve it!
😐 !! I wish i can lose 10 lbs …. I find it so hard 🙁 I got no patient ..
Wow, that’s amazing! It’s so inspiring for me. Definitely I’ll keep going and i won’t give up!
You’ve got a awesome web page here properly done best wishes
This story really inspired me. They say losing weight reaches a certain plateau and im now at that point. In August, i was weighing 150 lbs, the most i ever have my entire life…and I’m only turning 16 on May 28. I started gaining weight probably when i reached the third grade. Like every other kid, i slowly stopped playing outside and was focused more on the electronics.
After completely ridding myself of junk food, sodas, and even juice (other than homemade), Im now between 137 and 140 (always changing). Since my birthday is coming up, I decided that the best present i can give myself is to start exercising more and becoming even more healthy.
I’m the biggest of all my friends and even though they try to tell me im not “fat” only “chubby, but that’s what makes you cute,” I cant help but feel otherwise. Its sad seeing everyone happy with boyfriends and the attention from guys, but im always alone… and its not that im desperate for a boyfriend but the lack of attention is seriously making feel not beautiful and ugly. Over summer, i hope to achieve the weight loss Nikki did so that i can go back to school in August and surprise everyone and most importantly, actually feel good about myself.
Thanks a lot Nikki for the burst of inspiration and thank you Cassie for the fun healthy lifestyle you have introduced me to. <3 Bunch of love from Florida
Wow! Sounds like you have some great motivation! I can’t wait to see how far this journey takes you! Please keep me posted! email me: haefsryan@gmail.com I really do want to know how your story turns out! Much love from Minnesota:)
Hello there!
Nicky, if you’re reading this I just want to let you know that you are a true inspiration!
I did have weight problems at age 13, then I went to a psychologist who helped me a lot in this choice and then to a nutriologist that helped me get into shape; people WOULD say to me I had changed a lot, and after a few pounds (kilos! I’m Mexican, you know 😉 they would start telling me to quit the diet and threatening me “You’ll become an anorexic!” Which never happened, by the way…
For external reasons, I quit doing it and then, during my exchange at the USA I won some weight back! As soon as I got back home I started to diet again and lost some more. Diets came in periods, whenever I felt like doing them. But of course that’d only cause me to lose and regain it…
I have prom and a wedding coming up in less than 2 weeks, and I AM ALMOST THERE!
The reason I’m telling you this is because I was not so sure on how to keep me motivated to take the diet and exercise all the way through until I saw your before and after…
Then I tried to read your story quite a few times… but either my iPod died, or the internet would go off, or whatever… The point is… now that I’ve read it, I identify with you and I really love this progress of yours.
Kisses, Estefanía (Stephanie, in English)
Cassey, this one’s for you:
I thought that the only fun way to exercise was by dancing. That’s how I bumped into you: your Gangnam Style dance workout! Then I started to watch more of your videos and realized that other things could be fun, too! I love the way you talk to us while we exercise together, how you smile and give us tips on the way…
Thank you!
Xoxo from Mexico!
i really will keep going..i wont giv up!!…thanks for the inspiration..i m finally energised

x
Such good inspiration for me! Thank you so much for sharing!
Congrats Nikki and thanks for taking the time to share your story! You are an amazing young woman!!
Congrats Nikki , you look so beautiful … Its really hard for me to take control of my life … any advice ? I really wanna lose weight but just like you said i never feel the power enough to go through my job (ice cream shop) and not eat anything … i constantly feel sad and tired .. and i do workouts for like a week then everything goes down … How you do to stay in the right place??? please someone reply. please. grettings from Venezuela.
I don’t know if this is possible, but could you get another job? It shouldn’t all be about sheer will power. If you put things in front of yourself that you know will stop you from achieving your goal, then you likely won’t achieve your goals. You could maybe try to eat healthy and stay satisfied throughout the day so that eating ice cream isn’t as tempting?
Congratulations Nikki, you look amazing!!

this is amazing! congratulations nikki! it just shows that with determination and a hell lot of willpower, you can make yourself whatever you want 🙂 i myself, find it a struggle to eat healthy especially when there is a lot of temptations around me but at the end of the day or maybe the end of the week, you may think to yourself, was that bag of chips worth it? sometimes u have to sacrifice the present for the greater and better things that will come in the future and you have definitely proved it! thanks cassey too for this wonderfully inspirational blogilates community and ur bubbly personality that advocates fun in a healthy lifestyle which i think makes it a whole lot easier and lasting
