Blogilates Boston Meetup Recap + Android App!

Blogilates Boston Meetup Recap + Android App!

Hey POPsters!!!

I’m finally back home in LA after an East Coast trip that I’ll never forget! Last week was a whirlwind of craziness as I was shooting my book and preparing for the Blogilates Boston Meet Up. I hadn’t been back in like 2 years, so this trip meant a lot to me. Let’s begin this photostory!

Here’s a silly outtake from the shoot that probably won’t make it in the book. I’m covering my face in horror as my friends are throwing leaves all over me. Like how I matched my outfit to the fall colors? Yes, I know. I’m too good 😛

After the shoot it was time to get ready to meet the Class Council at Simmons College who I had only been contacting through email over the past couple of weeks. When I originally tweeted and facebooked who could help me with the Boston Meetup, Sana from Simmons reached out and volunteered her school. I will be forever grateful for Simmons’ generosity in helping me host the event and making it happen.

The night before the meetup, I was so nervous. I don’t know why. I usually don’t get nervous. So I just told myself to get a grip and then I did something relaxing. I painted the Blogilates Boston Banner and created the playlist for our class. I went out to Marshalls to buy a green mat for Boston but all they had was this turquoise so I had to deal. Oh well, close enough?

I went to sleep with all of this excited energy. I remember waking up from a nightmare. It was weird. I was thinking…is this real life foreshadowing?! Not good. Anyway, I packed up my bags, left the hotel, and T’d over to Simmons.

OMG!

IMG_9175

It didn’t take long for the line to lengthen tremendously. I was watching the line grow from the window above where the class was going to take place in just an hour.

IMG_9196

The POPsters were getting super pumped! These girls came all the way from Canada!!!! I couldn’t believe it!

IMG_9840

Once inside, POPsters needed to sign the yoga mat before they headed into class! This tradition started earlier this year at the NYC Blogilates Meetup.

IMG_9249

POPsters proceeded to head upstairs after they signed their life away at the front desk yoga mat. Just kidding. Here’s the action over at the Blogilates booth.

My friends Danny-J of Sweatybetties.com, Sarah of Sarahfit.com, and Bex of Bexlife.com made it out to see me!

IMG_9391

Anyway….I was doing soundcheck on the Simmons’ basketball court when I got the signal for y’all to come in. I was a bit overwhelmed and a stressed out (event planning does this to me) but as soon as I saw your smiling faces, I knew everything would be ok. When you started screaming and hugging me, I almost cried. Meetups are always so emotional for me. A surge of confidence took over my body  as soon as “The Fox” came on. It was the first song that warmed us up and everyone KILLED IT! I guess you guys had been practicing huh? Your 1-legged burpees were superb 🙂

IMG_9592

We proceeded with single chest press pulses….

IMG_9585

 Tricep kick n dips…

IMG_9567

I said…don’t you even think about stopping…at least not in real life…

IMG_9375

Single legged rollup….yes there was lots of fabulous torture. Everyone owned the moves. I was so proud.

IMG_9783

For the first time ever, we also did the POPster Awards in which I gave out prizes for 1. Most Colorful POPster, 2. Social Media Queen, and 3. POPster Inspiration Award. I don’t have clear pics of the winners but you will see who they are in the YouTube video that is being edited now. Should come out this week. Above in the tutu is the cutest craziest girl ever who went out of her way to win “Most Colorful”!

Each of the 3 winners got Blogilates clothing, a $150 giftcard to Reebok that allows you to customize your own sneaker, a box of delicious Quest Bars, and HINT Water. Big thank you to the sponsors for your generosity. It’s always nice to work with companies/people who believe in what you’re doing and want to genuinely be a part of a cool experience.

After the POP Pilates class was over, it was time to head into the adjacent hall for the meet & greet!

The line.

It was over 4 hours of signing mats…and yes my curls were so gone by this time. I used so many Sharpies, it was unreal. They should be the official pen of the Blogilates meetups!!

Y’all were so funny with your picture requests. Here’s the “Triple booty pat.”

“Cassey, can we do super asian pic?”

simmons college

4 hours of signing mats and photoshooting with you guys. It was so fun and I had the best time. Once the last POPster left, the Simmons crew and I were like “yeahhhhh WE DID IT!!!!” It was indeed a long day. I also want to thank Debbie Wong from BU for taking the meetup photos! She volunteered last minute when my photographer had to hop on an early flight back to the West Coast. It’s all about teamwork and passion. Thank you.

When I got home, I opened all of the presents you gave me like a child on Christmas day. From cookie butter to a care package, I had it all. Thanks guys,  you really shouldn’t have! I was more than surprised because I’ve never really gotten gifts at a meetup before! Thank you so much.

The next day was Sunday – my last day in Boston – and the only day I had to myself to just…relax. So It was time to feed the body and the soul. I had delicious raw oysters….yum yum yum. Talk about raw protein, yeah?

And then I was like, let’s celebrate. Lobster roll time!!!!! I shared this one – so good!!

This year I’ve done 3 meetups…New York, LA, Boston. Each one is so special to me and I love you so much. Thank you for making each experience one of the best. If you guys ever have any suggestions for making meetups an even better time (like should we have games or networking time while you’re waiting in line to see me?) please let me know in the comments. As I start to think about event planning more, I start to think about your own personal experiences from the time you get the ticket to the time you leave the event. So seriously, any suggestions, crazy or wild, tell me! It could happen!! A carnival?! A photobooth!!???

FINALLY…this is related to the meetup but it is related to everything else in life…THE BLOGILATES APP FOR ANDROID IS FINALLY HERE!!!!!!! I saw your 5000 comments on YouTube 🙂 Thanks for being patient. Android users…at least you didn’t have to go through a bunch of bug fixes like us iPhone users. Can you guys also let me know what improvements or suggestions you want for the app? I’m always looking to make it better!

Ok that is all for now. Have a fabulous day. Love you!!!

<3 Cassey

Omg, I wished I was able to be there! I hope that one day you can visit New Jersey (: & I’ve been loving the app lately on my phone. Too bad that I have to pay a dollar just to see the calendar and other features. But I still love the app in general 😀

  8. Carly says:

Now that the Android app is out …. can we have a Windows app? 😀

  9. MariaB says:

Sorry I haven’t read through all the comments but why does it say in the app it costs to see the calendar? Is it supposed to say that or is it a problemthingie? Cause you can see the calendar online for free when you are a subscribe

    1. Carmen says:

Yes, in the app you have to buy the calendar and you also receive the secret workout of the month. And you have them all on your phone, which is great for me… if the payment actually worked…
I mean… what am I going to do if the next months’ calendar will only be available if we pay… If this is going to happen, I would to be able to buy it online also… what a headache.

  10. Carmen says:

Anyone from non-US countries has any problems with the payment with the app?
I have tried with several cards and whatever, Google people say the app can be paid only in $, what is there to do if we have a different currency? I have never had any problem in purchasing other apps in Play Store, but they were all in my country’s currency…
Not to mention the fact that the app is still freezing and closing, black screen appears! And I’ve downloaded the Update. Hopefully this will all be fixed…

    1. MiinaMarie says:

I’m in Canada and don’t even know where to find the app :S

  11. Dibs says:

    Hi Cassey!

Just want to say that I love your work and high spirit. You keep lifting us up!
By the way your app for android isn’t available on Play store -> “No results found for ‘blogilates'”
I hope your team can look into this issue. I’ve been waiting for the android app ever since the iOS release xx

  12. Christine says:

While we’re talking about apps, just a quick note to thank you and the Veam developers for allowing us iPhone app users to go back and check off workouts from whatever day! Thanks for listening!! I’m in Ohio for school now, but hoping I can go to one of your workouts in person when I finally move back to California. 🙂

  13. Lisa says:

A Toronto meetup would be AMAZING!!!!!!

The android app is great! How come if we’ve signed up for the calendars on your blog we can’t also get them for free on the app?! The accounts should sync.

  14. Andreanne says:

Looks like you guys had a great time!

Hope ne day you’ll come to Canada, Toronto or Ottawa maybe?

  15. Rose says:

Hi Cassey … I’m so excited to find your app – I’ve just downloaded it. I’m a fairly new follower from Johannesburg, South Africa and a V.E.R.Y. new blogilates participant. Wow – I had no idea how it works you.

Thanks so much and for just being the cutest gal ever.

Meet up pictures always look like so much fun. The Boston meet up is no different. I wish I was there.
It’s so that so many people showed up. I bet others wanted to come but couldn’t for one reason or another.

I remember someone wanted you app for windows because they have the new windows phone.

  19. ieva says:

  20. Galina says:

Thanks for the app, Cassey 🙂 You’re golden 🙂
I keep facing one bug: the app keeps closing when I click on the video sorter. It just throws me out 🙁
And it would be great if a Stretching section could be added to the “I want to focus on my” section, as well as all HIIT routines to the “workout series”.

  21. Nicole says:

    Please come to Seattle!

  22. Tatia says:

    Hi Cassey,

As a blogilates beginner, I had a blast attending the Boston meetup at Simmons College! It felt so great to revisit my Alma Mater and partake in this fun experience. I was inspired to recap the event on my blog http://www.tatiasikharulidze.com/random-in-thought-rich-in-meaning.html. Congrats on all your hard work and success.

    Best,
    Tatia

  27. Annette says:

    Concerning the (awesome!) Android App:
Does any one else have a problem with the photos in the forum?
They are all very blurry on my phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) – how can I fix that?
I’d be very thankful for any advice!

    1. Carmen says:

That’s still a problem. Not to mention the payment issues… I keep getting the same error for 2 straight days…

  28. Léa says:

  31. jolene says:

omg!! thank you so much for the blogilates app that’s finally available to android users Cassey!! im so much more motivated to eat clean, now that there are so many recipes available!

  32. Ellie says:

    Come to Chicago!

Also, I’ve been waiting for the app for Android FOREVER so THANK YOU!!!

What are your thoughts on fitness bands such as the Nike Fuel or Fitbit Flex? I have one and can sync it with other fitness apps but it would be so convenient if I could sync it with my Blogilates app. That way I can log my calories if I use your recipes or do your workouts. Do you think that’s something you’ll do with your app in the future?

  33. Candace says:

Come to Canada Cassey! There’s much popster love up here in the great white north!
It’s so cool to see you working so hard to inspire people everywhere you go. Thanks for everything you do!

  34. Jenn says:

You have to come check out CANADA! It would be such a blast in TORONTO… Wee would love it!!!!!

    1. Cassy says:

This would seriously be a dream come true. I keep seeing people begging for a Toronto meetup, maybe she’ll see these comments and do one?
I’m not the strongest, and I’d probably make a complete fool of myself with my sad modified moves, but it would be such an inspiration to see her in person. If anything just to thank her for what she does.
Also – Blogilates clothing WITHOUT the shipping? I’d buy SO MUCH.

      1. Cassy says:

Hell, I’m not even from Toronto. Just somewhere in Ontario and I’ll make the trip (I realize that can be up to 10 hours, yes).

  35. Cailyn says:

You are so awesome Cassey! I would so come to a meetup but i’m a teen so my parents probably wouldn’t want to make the trip!:(

  36. Jennifer says:

    Come to Philly!! 🙂
Any idea why my android 4.1 tablet says it’s incompatible with the app??

  37. Katherine says:

Suggestions for the app: Could you link the playlist for the day? Maybe on the calendar you can start it when you start clicking on the videos?

  38. Omg this looks like the coolest experience ever and you had a great time. I’d love to take one of your classes!!

  39. Leanne says:

I WANNA MEET YOU SO BADLY. Please come visit Asia!!!

  40. Leah says:

    Hello Cassey!

I would like to ask for you to plleeeeaaassee come somewhere in the Ohio area. Maybe Cincinnati? 😀 That would be more than amazing! Thank you so much for EVERYTHING you do!

  41. Wow, it looks like the event was a huge success! Congratulations!

Cassey, it was so nice meeting you at #FitBlogLA yesterday! I am definitely going to come to one of your POPilates classes very soon!

xoxo – Whitney “To LIve & Diet in L.A.”

  42. Sofia says:

This looks like it was such a blast! It’s so exciting just to see pictures of fellow POPsters all together! I wish I could have been there, but one day, I WILL make it to a Blogilates meet-up. 😀 Cassey, could you please please come to somewhere in the midwest?? I know Omaha (or all of Nebraska, for that matter) is not the most attractive city, but the weather is nice in the spring, and our zoo is awesome! Even somewhere in Kansas or Iowa would be awesome! And the midwest is so central, I think a lot of people would be able to make the trip from farther out. 🙂 Thank you Cassey for being so inspirational and motivating! I would not be as fit, confident or happy if it weren’t for you!

  43. Liz J says:

But the app is not available in the google play store for people with android powered tablets and no smartphones, right?

    1. Teja says:

I can’t find the app on Google Play, either. How/where can Android users find the blogilates app?

      Thanks!! xox

  44. Angie says:

I don’t know why but reading this made me tear up reading about how Cassey was nervous but then excited and emotional when everyone was there to meet her! I really hope I can go to a meet up some day and get my mat signed.

    1. Sara says:

It made me tear up, too! Cassey is awesome 🙂

  45. Laycee says:

    Hi Cassey!
Thank you so, so, sooo much for the app! I’m loving it so far! The only semi-negative things I have to say about it are that for some reason the pictures on the forum are all blurry. :/ I noticed that a couple other people have this issue too, so I don’t think it’s just my phone. Also, I wish we could create a separate account for the forum, instead of needing a Twitter or a Facebook. For example, we could create our own Blogilates profile through our email or something. Since I don’t have (or want) Twitter or Facebook, it’s kind of a bummer that I can’t be a part of the forum. 🙁 If these two things could happen, it would be the BEST APP EVER. Seriously. Everything else about it is amazing! Thank you!! <3

    1. Jillian says:

yeah, i am noticing the blurry too, but i just downloaded a new update so maybe it’ll be better now!

    2. Serena says:

Strange…. i have a Samsung Note II and NONE of the pics are blurry?!? :/ xxx

      1. Laycee says:

There was an update over night, and it’s fixed now! Yay! 🙂

  46. Anastasia says:

I wish i lived in United States! PLEASE COME TO AUSTRALIA AGAIN CASSEY! I only started Blogilates this year, and missed you when you did the meet up 🙁 I’ve rallied so many of my friends to do blogliates, and they LOVE IT! We love you! And it would be a dream for you to come again!

  48. Nontalie says:

You should do a fun run! In Kansas City! Please come to Kansas City!!!!

  49. Daniela says:

Come to Miami Cassey! BTW love all your videos and posts!

  50. Bri says:

Come to HAWAII <3 please. I'm going to make it a mission that I actually get to meet and train with you one day!

  51. Tricia says:

That’s so awesome! Congrats Cassey!! I hope you come up to San Francisco one day. You could totally do a meet up at Golden Gate Park and make it an outdoor event!! Blogilates in the San Francisco sun… well, sometimes sun. I guess that would have to be done on a hopefully good day, else we’ll all be freezing in the rolling fog, haha. But try to come one day! 🙂

  52. Bethany C. says:

I always love reading about your meet ups! I hope that you have one in Vancouver one day! Or if you have on in Seattle I’ll definitely have a little road trip! That lobster looks soooo good!! Whenever I hear of meet and greets, it definitely seems like blogilates is one of the most organized ones 🙂 I love the app for android! I too have the s4 and the pictures are quite blurry 🙁 Other than that, it’s great!! 🙂 It would be cool to have your own profile, or to get notifications when someone comments/likes just like on instagram (I’m not a techy person, so don’t know if that’s too difficult to incorporate)!

  53. kayla says:

You should come to Austin sometime!!! I’d love to meet you 😀 but I’d probably explode…. That looks like so much fun!
I wish I had gotten the android now! Rawr! But I guess that means windows app is coming soon?? *fingers crossed*
you are too awesome cassey <3<3<3

    1. Kaitlyn says:

I’m in Ada, OK, if Cassey went to Austin I would so make the drive! Or anywhere in Texas would be great!

      1. Liz says:

        Yes Texas! (Houston cough cough)…lol

  54. Chelsea says:

I’d love it if you could come to London!

  55. Sigrid says:

    You’re amazing, Cassey!

And the app… the pictures have quite bad quality, and I’m pretty sure that’s just not my phone since I have a superb samsung galaxy s4. BUT I’m so happy that it’s here! I’m gonna buy the calender when it hits November 🙂

And I’m sorry for my extremly Norwegian way of writing 😛

  56. Juliana says:

I so happy about app for android! Dreams come true! 🙂 But upset, that I don’t leave in US (( and don’t have opportunity to visit meet up :((

  57. Jayme says:
