Hey guys,

A lot of people grow up feeling like they don’t have control of their own lives. You get a bad grade on a test – you feel sad about it and beat yourself up internally. Your friend gets promoted at work but not you – you feel jealous and incompetent. You get in a car accident – you are upset that you’re now late to your friend’s party and your car has a dent.

Yes, these are all terrible situations. And these are feelings I’ve felt before too. It’s totally natural and it’s totally human. But guess what? I want you to think about limiting the amount of time you feel down and begin the healing process by thinking about WHY this situation happened. Can something be learned? Did you actually just save yourself from something worse?

I am a true believer in “Whatever happens, it happens for a reason.” And get this…when it happens, you get to CHOOSE how you want to react. Think about it.

You don’t have to feel sad.

You don’t have to feel regretful.

You don’t have to feel jealous.

You don’t have to feel jealous.

You can choose how you want to feel. And for me, I choose to feel happy. Because why not?

Once you understand and embrace this, life is just LIBERATING! You can try things, fail, and get back up again without feeling bad. In fact, if you want to get better at something, YOU HAVE TO FAIL! Failure does not been you’re unsuccessful. It is a part of BEING SUCCESSFUL!

Ever hear this quote?

The Master has failed more times than the student has even tried.

It is truth.

Now onto other things…

Did you see my new Lower Belly & Booty Blast POP Pilates routine? Well if not…GGIRRRRRLLLL you bettah get on that! It is just too good. And in case you guys are wondering, my “Good Vibes Only” top is from blogilatesdesigns.com and my white pants are from Kira Grace Yoga!

Hope you have a crazy beautiful day!

Also…will you tell me what kind of challenge you want to do for September?

THANKS!!!

    BACK CHALLENGE PLEASE!! <3 <3 <3

  2. JULIE says:

    Hi Cassey,
My husband left me for another woman after 21 years of marriage. I thought he was my best friend. The last 3 years has been such a struggle with his alchaholism and suicide attempt last year. I knew that he wasn’t happy and I worked really hard to support him and help him with his recovery. He was diagnosed with bi- polar. I wanted to go to counseling but he wasn’t ready I felt him slipping further and further away. I was trying desperately to reach him but then finally a few months ago he moved out and then his girlfriend left her husband and they are living together and that’s how I found out he has been having ab affair. I’ve tried to choose happiness. I started with your beginners calendar and now I am working on your regular monthly calendar. I have lost 20 lbs. I look much better. I am eating cleaner. But still I am so hurt and angry and my spirit is so crushed. I wish I could figure out how to just choose happiness. I don’t know what else to do.

    1. Anna says:

I’m so sorry, Julie. I can’t even imagine what you must be going through. Healing from something this traumatic might take a long time. Hang in there, friend. <3

  3. You’re completely right about this!

Great post, Cassey! A great acronym that helps my students is:

    F = first
    A = attempt
    I = in
    L = learning

    Love your quote!

    Hi Cassey!

I would love to see some healthy snack ideas and maybe some workouts that are quick for back to school

  6. Cassie says:

Totally agree. There are so many toxic people out there! It’s up to you to rid of them!

  7. Jacqueline says:

    Hi Cassey!

Would definitely love a “back” to school challenge! My upper body strength has been weak most of my life and I would love to be able to have more of that strength. I have done some of your arms/back/shoulders challenge videos but would love to do more!

I also just want to say thank you. I have followed you since almost the beginning when one of my old friends introduced me to you. Granted, I have been on and off for the past few years but when in doubt I workout… with you! I’m financially strapped so gym memberships are not in my options for working out, so thank you for giving your time and gifts generously to me and to all the POPsters. My goal is to lose 20 pounds by my 25th bday (which is in November) and I am doing my best to try and workout somehow everyday, get more sleep and using the app My Fitness Pal to at least have a visual of what I am eating during the day and figure out how I can fix it for the next day so I can feel better and healthier than I have ever been, regardless of my busy lifestyle. I feel that writing this to you (after feeling almost embarrassed to even share any of this with anybody) will keep me accountable now more than ever.
You have talked a lot about body shaming and insecurity and that has what I have kept under wraps for years. I kept it very quiet and you wouldn’t know that I’ve had a poor image of myself. I get shy around mirrors, and shopping sometimes makes me sad when I need to find clothes and I can’t because nothing I try on that would look nice actually compliments my body type. People I am around are not as flexible about changing their food choices and I often feel pressured to eat foods I know are not that great. I would cry a lot when I look at particular areas of my body and I felt so much disappointment, thinking that I have let myself go. I am hoping that once I hit my goal weight that I can be at peace with myself and share with you my accomplishment in overcoming this hurdle. Once again, thank you for all that you do and I pray for all of the POPsters who have their own goals, dreams, and accomplishments to share! <3 <3 <3 <3

  9. Dawn says:

Can’t wait to start on this. How many days do I have to work on it to see results?

  10. Urooba says:

Hi Cassey!! It’s just been two weeks since I stumbled upon one of your videos and tried them and I absolutely loved them!! The Pilates and moves you do, even some of the very difficult ones , you show with such grace and motivation that I feel like doing them all the time. It revitalises me for my day ahead ❤️ Also, can you please aim September for back and chest excercises? I want to reduce my bust size, please uploaded some videos for that. THANKYOU!! xxx

  11. manganika says:

    Hello again, Cassey 🙂
I just remembered it is also “back to school” season, the word says it all: “work your BACK when you go TO SCHOOL” 😀 😀
I also thought about a name for the September calendar, what about “Back to Sculpt” ?!

    Bye xo xo

  12. Dale says:

Love your squat challenge. It would be awesome if you would do a leg kick challenge.
    Thank you

  13. Hey Cassy, you should do a workout challenge to the song: I will work this body by Walk the moon. It’s perfect for workouts!

  14. cristina says:

thank you Cassie insipiration the video as usual..!!! nice leggings.. 😉

  15. Moumita says:

    Hi Cassey,
I cannot tell you enough, how much I value your attitude and also the endless list of exercise you post. :). Can you please tell me that if someone loses weight the right way, can her cup size also reduce as a consequence? I put on 23 odd kilos over 5 years and I kept coming in and out of gym without significant success. I hv now quit watching the scale numbers and try to focus on just doing the right thing for myself everyday. And that is where your videos and thoughts motivate me. But I feel sad thinking that my bra cup size might never reduce. Is that possible?

    1. Grace says:

When you lose fat you lose it all over and since boobs are fat, you will most definitely have reduction.

  16. Jamie says:

Can we please do a cardio challenge?! that would be awesomely terrible 🙂

  17. Jamie says:

Ok I don’t want to say this or really do this but…CARDIO CHALLENGE for September 🙂 It would be awesome!

  18. Grace says:

Great perspective on choosing happiness. I actually hadn’t heard that quotation about the master and student before. I really like it.

Also, please do a back challenge for September!

  19. manganika says:

    Hello Cassey 🙂
Pleeeeease do a back challenge, something like the 1000 abs but for the back, with tons of reps and no equipment at all. We all sit for too long in front of the computer, we are in a bad need for a back challenge to get our “backs back in shape” :D:D
    Thanks for everything Cassey 🙂

  20. Comillite says:

    Hi Cassey!
Thank you so much for this post, you are an amazing person. For September I’d love a waist and hips challenge.
    Love you <3

  21. Veronica says:

Thank you Cassey!! I really needed these words in this moment 🙂
For September I’d like a booty challenge pls <3

    Love u so much!

  22. Hanna says:

Thank you so much Cassie! Without you I wouldn’t have achieved the dream body I’ve always wanted! For September could we focus on the waist and hips? Love you!

  23. Katelyn says:

Thank you so much for putting yourself out there Cassey. I was in such a bad place a year and a half ago.. 160 pounds at only 5’2″, eating junk all the time, drinking far too much far too often. My boyfriend ended up cheating on me and breaking up with me because he said I was too fat…that’s when I decided to make a change and your channel is what helped me so so so much. Not only are your workouts and recipes phenomenal but you as a person and the message you send out into the world shows just how gorgeous you are. When I saw your social experiment video I fell in love with who you are and now I look forward to our weekly workouts “together” ;). I’ve been healthy eating and working out for a little over a year now- I’ve lots 50 pounds and have gone from a size 11 to a size 3. I’m so proud of myself and I have you to thank. I just really hope you see this and hope you know how amazing you are. You have impacted my life in the best way- and now I’m a huge pilates lover! 🙂

    1. Kat says:

Wow your ex sounds like a jerk. He didn’t cheat on you because you gained weight. He cheated on you because he’s a selfish, self-serving tool. Don’t forget that! Cheaters cheat because of themselves not because of their partners.

  24. Emme says:

    Hi Cassey!

As for the challenge for September, I would like either upper body (chest/back) or maybe cardio? I would be lovely if you did maybe a 30 day cardio challenge! 😀

I love your 30 day challenges!

    //Emme

  25. Amy says:

Some sort of eat-clean/diet challenge! That would be awesome! xD Love you!

  26. Marla says:

    You are so right, Cassey!

As for the September challenge… what if we did some clean eating challenge?! Or something lifestyle-related but not necessarily exercise-related? Sometimes it’s easy to forget all of the other pieces of the puzzle.

  27. Oh cassey, I was feeling SO down on myself yesterday night because I felt my life is currently meaningless full of financial restriction.

But thanks so much for giving me hope and turning my perspective around. I’m going to go out today to find some joy.

  28. Jazz says:

As a teenage girl, its hard for me not to feel jealous when you see your entire class so skinny while I sit with thick thighs and bigger hips. I look around at my group of friends who are all different sizes and think i’m the fattest out of everyone. And even if someone tells me i’m skinny or that i should love my body, i can’t. It’s so hard for me to look in the mirror without looking at my flaws/ With my older sister losing a lot of weight and entering into the fitness world, i thought i would as well. I’ve started the 30 day thigh and butt challenge and i’ve honestly seen my butt lifted but not so much my thighs, which is the part of my body the i’m really insecure about, as well as my hips. i want to go on this fitness journey with you and start my senior year right by going on the September blogilates calendar. My challenge for September is dealing with my bigger hips so if you can make that a 30 day challenge – that would be awesome! i want to start looking in the mirror and loving myself and with your help, i think i can.

  29. Tatiana says:

    Hello,
I find real inspiration in the way you you are, the way you work out, the way you try to motivate others, the way you speak about important issues. It really works!!!
so even if I don’t feel like working out, you significantly facilitate the process and make it a pure pleasure. Thank you!

My wishes for September: chest (without shoulders please)) and waist!

  30. Kathy says:

    Hey Cassey,
thanks for the reminder 🙂 I choose happiness too even though sometimes it’s hard to stay happy because there are people that can pull you down, there are situations that you simply can’t control and that can make you feel sad, but it’s important to see what you can learn of these things and not let them define you.
I am with you with the quote “everything happens for a reason” because I believe, no, I feel and I know that the five years my best friend and I were apart happened to show us that our friendship means the world to us and to make us realize what we had. I decided that I want it back and so did she.
Yesterday I have decided that I don’t want college to fill my whole life. Yes, it is important and I study because I love my studies, BUT I don’t want to be my life just that. I want to be an artist and writer. I want to write all those stories in my head and I want to draw because I always did. over the last two years I hardly ever had time and if I did, my drawings were so ugly, I hated them and I was angry with myself. It’s funny I decided so often to stop it. Don’t draw ever. after some days or weeks I’d gone crazy cause I missed it just as much as I would miss working out.

I’d love another ab challenge, honestly 😉
    love, Kathy

  31. Malin says:

    Hi Cassey,
I’ve been loving these challenges, so I’m really happy that they seem to be here to stay! yaay!!
I’ve love a #JourneyToHeadstands challenge. I specially loved the journey to splits, although I wasn’t able to do it in a month, I saw a great improvement in flexibility, and I’m getting there, slowly but getting there non the less ^^ I specially loved the fact that we were working towards a goal together, and it was fun seeing how everybody was getting better. Thank you for laying the ground to such an amazing community full of good vibes <3 lots of love!

  32. Zoe says:

Hi Cassey I’m 11 years old and love your videos. I’ve noticed a big difference in my self since watching you. THANKYOU from Zoe xxx

  33. Melissa says:

    Hi Cassey!
I think it would be cool to have another abs and/or oblique challenge or another flexibility challenge. Or maybe an eat clean/diet challenge.

Thank you, and I can’t wait for September!

    1. Kathy says:

these sound like good ideas too 🙂 I can’t wait for September as well. It’s only birthday two and a half weeks to my birthday^^

  34. Sally says:

Thanks Cassie, this is perfect timing! I’ve been really feeling ‘down with the weather’ since finding out about a stress fracture in my leg. I felt like a failure but after having some time alone, I’m trying to change my pattern of thought. X

  35. sarai says:

i love you! your an inspiration. any pointers on diet appitat

  36. Elana says:

Hey Cassey, I’m glad to be coming back to your site. Interesting and motivational post, although I feel like this is a lot easier said than done, especially if someone has anxiety or other types of emotional difficulties they face and struggle with on a daily basis. I beat myself up a lot and of course it doesn’t seem to help me do any better anymore. I wish I could get myself together and more back in a positive and productive place.

Your site initially got me into the habit of working out last year, but I found my measurements increasing instead of decreasing (especially around my waist) so I abandoned ship and went to weight lifting and cardio and using My Fitness Pal, which was working pretty well for me (except I still felt hungry most of the time). Over the past 2 months I stopped everything and have gained weight. I’ve gone from 105 to 120 in the past two years, and enough is enough, I want to lose some weight and build some lean muscle without losing my curves. Is that possible? What am I doing wrong? I know one thing is that I’m not getting nearly enough sleep (5hrs or less per night) so that needs to change. Is doing blogilates enough to get me there, or should I incorporate other weight and or/cardio workouts?

You are so bright, never stop shining. Any advice you have for me is truly appreciated.

    Thank you dear <3

Hi, I would love a muffin top challenge!
