SHEIN has fully gone shameless thief mode. Ugh.

Hey guys,

SHEIN is at it again, stealing designs without making even the slightest effort to hide what they’re doing. Remember when the company president called me and promised this wouldn’t happen again? Well, here we are. They’re not only stealing the designs, but the entire vision for each one; From how the design is styled to how the model is posed. It’s ridiculous.

The receipts

You know I’ve got ’em. Funny how it was never supposed to happen again yet I keep finding MORE?! I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.

How creative of you to pair your copy of my skort with a white top, on a model with the same skin tone.

I guess when I said, “Stop stealing my skort design,” SHEIN actually heard “Help yourself to all of my skort designs.” 🙃

I don’t even know what to say. Having your model hold a tennis racket doesn’t make anything about this original.

Guys, I AM SO TIRED.

This has to stop.

SHEIN seems to think they can steal a design, take it down when “caught,” and relist it under a different name. Their inventory is so massive (hi, fast fashion), that they assume stolen designs are easy to “hide,” like a dupe of my Pirouette Skort, listed with 14 pages of other skorts.

But we’re catching on. Designers and small business owners like me are watching. Our communities are watching. And we’re fighting.

And if you still think I’m “overreacting,” tell that to hundreds of other small business owners who unknowingly worked for free to contribute to SHEIN’s $32 billion of revenue in 2023…

To Mr. Chiao,

Tell me sir, what is the point of running a business with no integrity? Building a brand with no trust? I guess for $32.5 billion a year, you think stealing is just a way of business, don’t you?

To my community,

I didn’t want to bring this up again but I just can’t keep it in. I am boiling over with disappointment and anger. SHEIN doing this to me is one thing, but the people who will end up commenting on my post defending this billion-dollar corporation is a whole ‘nother kind of twisted.

SHEIN: REMOVE MY STOLEN POPFLEX DESIGNS OFF YOUR SITE NOW.

Theres one for the ace em pleated akort as well.
This is truly terrible and dishonest and shein needs to see consequences for their actions.

  2. Payton says:

Uhh Cassey… Unfortunately, and i could be wrong but itlooks lile they stole your That’s a Wrap Skort and have another pirouette design up… I would check that out as well

I actually wanted to create my own brand of stationery based on my life experiences and stories. But after reading all these horror stories of Shein and Temu, I feel like abandoning the idea. Because I would be heartbroken if my brand was ever stolen… because the brand and its idea has a lot of personal meaning to me 🙁

  4. Yoyo says:

This is not right they shouldn’t be doing this 👿

At first when I looked at SHEIN, it looked like a dream come true!!! Cheap prices, lots of clothing, and so much more! But now… they just need to be shut down. I love how Cassey is making a stand as a business owner and whenever I can, I also support and strongly suggest boycotting SHEIN they need to be shut down or at least torn down from the base and restarted with better ethics, better management, and better pay for the workers who are slaving away for barely anything!!!!!

    1. Sam says:

I totally agree. It’s outrageous how much money SHEIN is making from this. I admire Cassies strength going through this. I hope she and her company are able to survive this.

  6. Scarlet says:

There is another brand called lulu and sky they are stealing your designs

  7. Scarlet says:

Did u try to sue shein over these designs?

  8. Jaisa says:

Bro shein makes so much money and does not pay people to make designs for them but instead they steal designs from hard working people. 😒

  9. Aria says:

I can’t believe this is happening! This is unacceptable! Some people don’t respect the hard work of others at all!!

  10. Madison says:

    You should file a lawsuit

  11. Shalvi Gurav says:

I just saw your design copied by another brand named Lulu & Sky, checkout that also

  12. Jade says:

    Shein deserve to be punished!

  13. Greta says:

Some people have no respect 🙄🙄

  14. Lillian Bond says:

This is so terrible. HOW DARE THEY TRY TO “HIDE” YOUR STOLEN DESIGNS, AND HOW DARE THEY STEAL IT IN THE FIRST PLACE.

  15. Rose says:

I wouldn’t post about this, because people who didn’t know now know they can find these designs on Shein for less. There are many clothes out there that look the same. It does clearly look like they’re copying you, but if they’re not claiming it’s your brand is that illegal?

  16. tanvi says:

I am so disappointed in SHEIN for this. Like imagine how many other things off their websites r just from other businesses! Ugh, so annoying!😤🙄

  17. mia says:

omg go off this has to stop!!!! im so angry for you. I hope you get justice. I will never support shein. continue to speak out about this!!

  18. CPT Obvious says:

    Hi Cassey,

I understand your dismay at Shein stealing your designs. What I *don’t* understand is how this can be outrageous to you while you’re simultaneously designing a Stanley dupe to sell. Why not partner with Stanley for a pop flex exclusive instead of doing exactly what you’re calling others out for?

It’s extremely dystopian and downright scary what these big companies, heck, even individuals, are doing with AI. Have you looked into the Dead Internet Theory yet? Apparently, us real people are so outnumbered by AI bots, that organic content doesn’t even make up 50% of the internet anymore. I have to wonder how much of those millions of dollars Shein and their ilk are feeding directly into this problem. I’m so sorry this happening to you. I really admire you for keeping up the good fight, in spit of how utterly exhausting it is. I hope enough people can make our voices loud enough to maybe force those making legislative decisions to write and enact cybersecurity laws preventing al of this nonsense. The current legislation isn’t enough by a long shot, or simply doesn’t exist yet, because governors and senators just haven’t gotten around to updating the laws to apply to this new world we’ve been living in for the last 10 years! It’s disgraceful how behind the times they are.

  20. I am a small business with a clothing line, and I have been hacked with my original designs a lot lately. It’s savage. I’m sorry this is happening to you, too.

Can you approach your state representative? Maybe your senator? There is something similar being passed regarding the biotech industry, see the Biosecure act. Maybe they can get together to stop these companies.

  22. M says:

The AI face on your body is downright gross and violating. However, I was confused by your email this morning. Can you help me understand how SHEIN selling a dupe of your skirt designs is different from you guys selling a dupe of the Stanley quencher that you advertised in the very same email? Thank you.
