I Really Like You Squat Challenge + Healthy Snack Ideas!

IMG_9886
Hey guys!

WOW!!! What a crazy week! “The Perfect Body” was literally featured on almost every media source…it was on the CNN homepage, Yahoo! homepage, my name was trending on Facebook, trending on Buzzfeed, Jared Leto facebooked it…I mean OMG! This craziness has never ever happened to me before.

I am so happy at the overwhelming positive response the video received GLOBALLY. We made the whole world recognize that body shaming is NOT OKAY. My main goal with the video and this controversial instagram photo…

mean comments

…was to get people talking about the beauty standard in our society. What’s beautiful? What’s not? What’s real? What’s not? What are we supposed to think about ourselves when people are constantly telling us that we’re never good enough? That we’re not skinny enough and that our butts aren’t big enough? This ends up hurting young girls’ self-esteem as they grow up. That ultimately negatively affects their self-image long term.

Well guys, I couldn’t be prouder of us. Remember in my first fat shaming video I told you that it was our responsibility to battle body shaming? I don’t think there could have been a better way to do it. We captured the hearts of people and media across the world. And guess what?  The cyberbullies somehow were missing last week amongst all of the positivity…hmm…interesting isn’t it?

*SQUISH*

Now! Let’s talk about your new workout video! Are you a fan of Call Me Maybe Squats? Cuz if you are…here is the updated version. Beware. It’s deadly.

Introducing the “I Really Like You Squat Challenge“! Let’s just say I took squats to a WHOLE ‘NOTHER LEVEL. It was really hard for me – I was SCREAMING!! I saw some comments from you guys saying that it was so hard you literally fell over. That made me laugh. Sorry, I shouldn’t be laughing. I love that you push yourself so hard! But please, safety first! Next…a healthy snacks video!

You will be learning how to make some of my fave open face sandwiches! I am using Ezekiel bread in all of them. Ezekiel is a sprouted grain bread that is higher in fiber and protein than regular white bread. It also does not bloat me as much! You can find it in the frozen aisle at your local grocery store.teddy bear toastI am in love with my Teddy Bear Toast! He’s made of peanut butter, bananas, and blueberries! Literally, so cute! If you have kids…this would be perfect for them! Use #blogilates and #cheapcleaneats when you make this so that I can like and comment on your post 🙂 So…I gotta go pack for NYC. I am gonna be there for a long while. I hope to run into some of you! Is it warmer yet on the East Coast?love-cassey-transparent-150px

Hi guys.I couldn’t download I really like you squat challenge from youtube.any help plz?

  2. Nice post, after completing the squat challenge, try completing it again using some weights to continue firming up your glutes and thighs 🙂

  3. Sharon says:

Hi friends, I have been doing blogilates since January. But for the past month or so I’ve been sick and had hurt my knee.now that I’m better I want to start again. Do I start with the beginners again? Also is it normal not to be able to finish the entire set for the day on the calendar?

  4. Kayleigh says:

I just did this whilst holding my baby, had to modify the duck squats, my thighs are on fire!!!

  5. Monica says:

Cassey, you’re honestly such an amazing woman! Thank you so much for all the work you do for us, and promoting fitness in a healthy and positive way. You’ve inspired so many of us to love our bodies and be proud of what we have! You go girl!

  6. Alicia says:

Hey everyone and Cassie! So Ive started the May calendar and its going great so far. Im a college student and I stay up late at night to work and study and get hungry because I eat supper so early. Besides the healthy bread snacks video you made is there any other healthy alternatives to feed my study cravings? I love savoury things more than sweet and would just like something to keep my energy up..thanks! X
By the way youre awesome Cassie and so are all the people you inspire to be better versions of themselves:)

  7. Proper squats absolutely can’t be beat! Skip those fluffy shoes though and go with a flatter pair for a safer squat! I know some of the Nike’s are much lower in the heel rise, and Reebok has some flat models too.

Teddy Bear Toast? Super cute! Gonna have to surprise my littles with that!

    Cheers,
    Madeline

Hey, I’ve been uncomfortable with my weight for a long time and am debating whether to do the Blogilates workouts. Can anyone tell me if they have lost weight from doing these workouts? Thanks.

    1. Fern says:

Megha, these workouts are great for weight loss and building muscle (and are super fun!)

But, please, don’t be uncomfortable with your weight. You’re awesome. And beautiful.

Go forth and be healthy + happy!

      1. Roxanne says:

Yep, sure have. When I started, I was completely out of shape. I did one Blogilates workout and attempted another. I could barely move for four days after that. Then I looked at the beginners calendar, and did that for a month and also followed the 90 healthy eating calendar to the best of my abilities. I also used dietbet to motivate me which Cassey hosted a couple of games (and which is how I discovered her!). I have definitely lost a lot of weight, gained muscle, and feel great about myself. Don’t wait. Try a calendar. If it’s too hard, try the beginners calendar. Cassey’s workouts are fun and super effective.

  9. Hayley says:

I’m sick today so I’m skipping today’s workout how should I incorporate it back in when I start up tomorrow? Also I have SUCH bad pains in my hip flexors and low back and suggestions on what I can do

    1. Natalia says:

I’m not Cassey, but I thought I’d try to answer this.
Skipping a workout because you’re sick is totally fine. Always. Unless you’re sick for several weeks or months, it’s not going to set you back at all, and you don’t need to make up for it the next day. If your body is sick, let it heal, please, please don’t push it.

My hip flexors have always given me a lot of trouble, and I used to try asking for help here, but I never got any. Your hip flexors probably aren’t very strong yet, and most ab exercises use hip flexors, so that can be really frustrating and painful. I’ve found that walking helps a lot because you use your hip flexors and build up a little strength and flexibility. Once again, I’d recommend that you never push it too far. Lifting weights or doing squats to the point of pain tears up your muscles and helps you build new ones, but often times, working your hip flexors to the point of pain will put your hip flexors in spasm, and that’s really uncomfortable and painful. Overall, I’d say take it easy until your hip flexors are stronger so they don’t hurt so much! It takes patience and you might feel like you’re not working out enough, but it’s ALWAYS better to avoid injury. That’s not up for debate.

I really love you are doing Cassey! I believe that you are sending the right message and that you are teaching girls all around the world that body shaming and this idea of the ‘perfect body’ doesn’t need to exist. This message that you are sending is probably going to change the way that most girls think.

You are doing a wonderful job in inspiring others so keep it up! 🙂

  11. SooLin Kim says:

I just really want a daily workout tha is not extreme because I’m pretty young and I don’t. know why but like all these people can like at least touch their toes but I couldn’t until I started doing intense stretching I don’t know why I’m so inflexible. I really want a workout that I can do daily thatll target my whole body that isn’t extreme that I can do before I go to school(I have to go by nine, I wake up at six forty five) and after I come home from school. I want it to help me lose weight, and fat. Can you also recommend a stretching schedule so that I don’t limit myself but I also don’t push too hard. because sometimes I try to follow your videos for stretching but they’re kind of intense for Mem so just easy daily stretches thatll help me to touch the ground and not just my toes and thatll help me to do splits! Sorry if this is too much to ask but I basically want a daily workout schedule from you thatll help me lose fat and weight and also be more flexible. I really like you Legs for Days routine besides for the fact that it only targets your legs, butt, arms and stuff like that. sirry its just that I don’t have a lot of patience and so I just want to quickly be flexible and quickly lose wight so that I can first see good progress for me to continue. I don’t know please just reply some kind of workout routine. that could help if you could. I don’t want to burden ou and so you might now even see this post. LOL. Please and Thank you if u do see this

    1. Meme says:

Why don’t you try the beginners calendar? There are a few full body videos and videos that target specific areas for beginners. Its a good way to start out without being to intense right from the get go.

    2. Roxanne says:

Also, see Cassey’s video re: splits – 9 steps to doing the splits (something like that)

  12. Sofia says:

GUYS IF U CAN’T FIND THE PASSWORD AND U R USING GOOGLE MAIL , CHECK UR PROMOTIONS ! 🙂

  13. Elena says:

What’s up with those girls telling your body in that picture is perfect, it looks so fake and unhealthy, I get a liitle bit sad for them, I wonder if they know that their problem is not their body, but the love they have for themselves. :/

Anyway, I kind of feel proud of you even I don’t know in person, and kind of jealous that Jared Leto mentioned you! hahaha

Congratulations Cassey, your changing the Wolrd 🙂

  14. Carolyn says:

    Cassie,
I’ve been working out with you in my living room for 4 years. When I started, I had a 3 year old and a 1 year old and the only time I had to work out was when they were napping. You helped me reclaim the strong body I once had. The bonus is that my kids see their mom as a strong woman who takes care of herself and loves to exercise. The kids love it when they get to watch and workout with me (and you). My little one (now 5) is partcularly fond of the “sisters” workouts! You have made such an impact on our family. Thank you for being real, being supportive and being such a great motivator. Thank you for all that you do for us!

  15. Elisa says:

Hi Cassey! I rarely comment on any social media, but I really really really want to now, for you! 😛 But especially after the body shaming video where your bared your vulnerabilities and showed me even more so that you are such a real and relate-able person. I know you probably get this a lot, but you have made such a difference in my life with your bubbly, cheerful and positive spirit. You are such an inspiration – you jump started my lifestyle change 2+ years ago when I learned about you through bubz. I’ve now realized it’s not about dieting nor the pounds lost but it is the feeling of being happier, feeling good, and feeling stronger!! Thank you, thank you and congratulations on all of your successes. I am so proud of you and look up to your strength and charisma!

    Hi Cassey,

I have just received your book and I am already in love with it!!! I am currently in my junior year in college and am participating in a exercise prescription class. About a week after your book got to my house I had to write my final report which was a workout routine for a client that was assigned to me. Turns out your book came out just in time because my client loved some of your exercises and I was able to incorporate them into my plan. So I had had your book for maybe a week and I have found myself already using it as a reference. Thanks for writing your book and just being you!!! 🙂

    Thanks,
    Sara

  23. LizzieJ says:

    Hey guys
This is completely unrelated to this post…but recently i ordered the book in time to get the free tote bag. I then got an email to say it was on its way and then today received another email saying i have to email them my telephone number and if i don’t i won’t get my tote bag. I don’t often order online and just wanted to know if it had happened to other people as it just seemed a little strange as they didn’t even tell me why it couldn’t be delivered already or how my telephone number would help. Thanks for any help you guys can give me

    LizzieJ
    PS-the book is amazing!!!!

  24. Katie says:

Hey Cassey! So, I just got my book in the mail yesterday and I am already loving it!!! After I saw your body shaming video on FB, I checked you out and fell in love in about 5 minutes! I am really excited to start my journey and EAT RIGHT! I do have a question…. So in Hot Body Year-Round, you gave us a work out schedule. Now when you say “any medley of 5 workouts,” do you mean all of work #1, all of #2, #4…. etc.? Or do we just pick out 5 different moves from every workout? Just making sure I am on top of my game! I can’t wait to continue reading and sharing my journey with you!
    XoXo

  25. an says:

The controversial image is photoshopped at the waist and the thighs 🙁 don’t succumb to pressure from dumb people making remarks on the body you really have. Practice what you preach and show yourself as you are. Beautiful and healthy and popular for it

  26. Garima says:

    Hi Cassey,

This video was really good. Felt the burn in my legs but can we get some workouts that target mainly the outer thighs.

  27. Anna-Kaisa says:

Cassey…. those duck squats!!! :’D Did NOT see that coming, Oh my quads for sure!

  29. Maria says:

    Hi Cassey! 🙂

I know that your ‘Perfect Body’ video has impacted the world on a huge scale, but I wanted to say that it has impacted my family as well. I showed it to my mom and she started crying and said to me, “Goodness, you should write to her and tell her how amazing she is and how she has changed your life!” Well, let me tell you that you are AMAZING, Cassey! You have changed my entire lifestyle and I an so much more happy, healthy, and content! Most importantly I love myself and am reaching for my dreams! And I know that a bajillion people say this to you but I thought it was important for you to know that YOU are an inspiration to ME..Maria. Thank you so much for what you do and for who you are!!! Know that you are in my prayers! Love, ~From a POPster

  30. Adam Trainor says:

Not only is body shaming “not okay,” it’s fruitless. All shaming is. It’s toxic. In fact shame is a feeling (or state of mind if you want to split hairs) that our body produces to reveal something about ourselves. It should be used as an internal audit process when we’ve done something that maybe we don’t feel so good about. I wouldn’t throw shame out with the bathwater or try to ignore it, but when it come at me externally I’ve trained myself to consider the source. Shame is not an effective coaching tool.

  31. Aisha Bee says:

AAAAAAAAGHHH! Cassey you are KILLING me!! But I love you!

  32. Ashleigh says:

While body shaming is definitely not okay, one comment caught my eye “Fake piss off that’s how girls get anorexia” – I honestly think that’s an ignorant comment due to the fact that, people who struggle with their body weight have nothing to do with other people’s ability to get up every morning and work hard on making themselves healthier and happier. Its a choice, it doesn’t depend on anyone (Casey or victoria secret model) to get you up and get you eating right and get yourself in shape- all of that depends on you!

  33. Mackenzie says:

I love you, Cassey! You’re my fitness inspiration.

  34. Alicia says:

    Hey Cassey!
I thought it was so lovely when I saw the article on buzzfeed
I think we all have to remember to love our bodies and lives and that the most important thing is that we are happy with the skin we are in. Thank you so much for bringing attention to such an important issue . Lots of love xx Alicia

  35. Cassie says:

You know that we’d help you out with body shaming, which is not okay at all under any circumstance! Have fun in NYC!

  36. Thanks for the great toast/sandwich ideas! I’m always looking for ways to up my breakfast game 😉 And your squat challenge is on my to-do list for today. I love doing these types of leg workouts on rainy days when I can’t go outside and walk.

  37. I’m scared to try the new squat challenge. But that’s all the more reason to do it, Grr!!

  38. Kazumi says:

Ah! I just did it for today’s workout from Aprilates. CRA-Y-ZYYYYH!! My legs hurt from yesterday.
Thank you so much for being here with me on my journey!!! I love you Cassey

  39. Wendy says:

I really really really really like this one more. Could you please make a Circle workout again.I really really loves the other one.
    You are great
