5 Unusual Foods You can make in your Waffle Maker!

Hey guys!

It’s time for a new CHEAP CLEAN EATS!!!! Yes it has been forever. I am sorry. I filmed this video when I got my wisdom teeth pulled, so it’s super sad that I was not able to eat any of the creations! You will also see a bit of my chipmunk cheek, my bruises, and my stuff face.

OTHER than that, this is such a cool video. I am going to show you 5 crazy cool recipes that you can make in your waffle maker. Ready to get creative? Watch this:

Waffle Quesadilla

Ingredients: 2 low carb tortillas ½ cup Pepperjack cheese 3 tablespoons black beans, rinsed, drained and patted dry 3 tablespoons red bell peppers, chopped 1 green onion, chopped (optional) ½ avocado, sliced or mashed into guacamole (optional) Method:

  1. Heat waffle iron to medium.
  2. Sprinkle one tortilla with cheese, beans, bell peppers and green onion. Lay another tortilla on top.
  3. Coat waffle iron with cooking spray. Place onto iron and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove carefully.  Slice in half. Top with avocado, or garnish as desired..

Nutrition Info:

Yields 2 (serving size: ½ quesadilla)

HEALTHY WAFFLE COOKIES

Ingredients: 1 small ripe banana 1 egg ¾-1 cup oats 2 packets stevia (optional) 2 tablespoons raisins or chocolate chips (optional) pinch cinnamon (optional) Method:

  1. Heat Waffle iron to medium heat.
  2. Place all ingredients (except raisins or chocolate chips) into a mini blender.
  3. Coat the iron with coconut oil cooking spray.
  4. Spoon batter onto iron.
  5. Cook for 3-4 minutes, or until cooked through.

Nutrition Info Per Cookie:

Yields 6 cookies (serving size: 1 cookie)

HEALTHY WAFFLE HASHBROWNS

Ingredients: 1 parsnip 1 medium red potato, peeled 1 tablespoon Ghee, butter or coconut oil 1 tablespoon liquid egg white Salt & pepper to taste 1 large egg Method:

  1. Heat waffle iron to medium-high.
  2. Grate both the parsnip and potato and measure to equal 2 cups. Squeeze out all moisture using 2 paper towels or a clean dish towel.
  3. Add to a medium bowl, with ghee, egg white and salt and pepper. Stir well.
  4. Spray iron with cooking spray and spoon potato mixture across the top. Close waffle iron and press firmly for one minute.
  5. Cook for 13-15 minutes or until there’s no more steam releasing.
  6. Prepare a small nonstick pan by coating with cooking spray and heating over medium heat. Crack egg and cook sunny side up. Lay on on top of hash browns.

Also, here’s a trick for perfect sunny side up eggs!!

Spray your pan, crack your eggs into it, put 1 ice cube inside then put a lid on top. The steam from the ice cooks the egg. No need to flip it over. No broken yolks.

WAFFLE OMELET

Ingredients: 2 eggs 6 tablespoons egg whites 1 tablespoon water 1 slice turkey bacon salt & pepper to taste Method:

  1. Heat waffle iron to medium heat.
  2. Microwave bacon on a paper plate covered with a paper towel for 2 minutes, or until crispy. Cool slightly, Crumble or chop into small pieces. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, whisk eggs, egg white and water. Add bacon.
  4. Coat waffle iron with cooking spray.
  5. Pour eggs onto waffle iron.
  6. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Nutrition Info:

Yields 1

CAPRESE WAFFLE PANINI

Ingredients: 2 slices bread, gluten-free or low-carb, any kind 1½ ounces fresh mozzarella, sliced into two rounds 3 tablespoons sun dried tomatoes, drained 8 fresh basil leaves Method:

  1. Heat waffle iron to medium heat.
  2. Chop the sun dried tomatoes and 4 basil leaves together.
  3. Using a spoon, spread ½ the mixture onto each slice of bread.
  4. Lay mozzarella on top. Lay four basil leaves on top.
  5. Sandwich other bread slice on top.
  6. Coat waffle iron with cooking spray.
  7. Lay sandwich inside, close the top and cook for 3-4 minutes or until bread is crispy and inside is warm.

Yields 1

Calories: 340

Protein: 11g

And here’s a FUN TIP! How to clean your waffle iron easily? Just wet 2 paper towels.  Lay them inside an unplugged,  still-warm waffle iron, and allow the steam to clean it for you. THAZZZZ IT!!     The panini is so delicious and easy!! I didn’t have sun dried tomatoes so I used just regular tomatoes!! Taste great!

    I only saw part of your post before as I was pretty busy, but I remembered the main idea (making foods in a waffle iron) and made french toast in my waffle iron the next morning for breakfast. I think that the waffle iron version of french toast was the best I have EVER had!!! Your ideas are great too-can’t wait to try more!!!

    Hi Cassey, this isn’t at all related to your post but I just wanted to say I love love LOVE when you do a video that has cardio with strength moves in between like the Flat Belly Fat Burner workout!!     Nowhere near clean eating, we used potato gems in the waffle maker to make hashbrowns as a base for a breakfast sandwich, it was insanely good – such a guilty pleasure now!
