100 Calorie Whole Wheat Banana Muffin Recipe
Want a yummy and healthy banana muffin?! This is just what you’re looking for!
It can be the perfect dessert. Or breakfast. Or random healthy snack.
I tried making muffin faces with strawberries and blueberries. They don’t look too happy. Sorry, it was 12AM.
OMG gorgeous! Look how they turned out!
Moist and superbly delightful. Not too sweet.
Ingredients:
– 100g instant oatmeal
– 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
– 1 TBSP baking powder
– 1/2 tsp baking soda
– 1/8 tsp salt
– 1 cup of mashed banana (I used 2 bananas and the bread was just sweet enough, but if you like really sweet, use 3)
– 1/4 cup splenda (didn’t have any, so used regular sugar, that’s why the muffin is 100 cals, it could be less)
– 1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce
– 3 TBSP egg white
– 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Directions:
1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large mixing bowl. Set oven to 350 degrees F.
2. Then mix all of the wet ingredients together in a separate bowl. I added the banana to this mixture and mushed it up with a spoon. I left it kind of chunky so that I could taste the chunks in my muffin.
3. Now mix both together in the large mixing bowl.
4. Once all stirred up and even, spray a muffin pan with cooking spray and then dollop the batter into each little muffin hole. Makes 12.
5. Top with fruits if you desire.
6. Place in oven for 15-20 min. To check if your muffins are done, take a toothpick and puncture the bread. If it comes out clean you’re done. If it comes out with some goo sticking on it, you need to leave it in the oven a wee bit longer.
Taste test!!!
OMG YUM is all I have to say. I was supposed to only “try” one, but I ate two and yes I could still eat more. They are soooooooooooo goooooooood! Moist and just SLIGHTLY sweet. If you really like super sweetness, add the 3rd banana.

Looks really tasty!!
But in a lot of videos you use instant oatmeal. Can you also use normal oats and bake it in the oven maybe??
Are these okay to eat on the 90 day challenge?
I was wondering if you could try and come up with a low carb blue berry muffin? I love all of your recipes and would love to see you try and make something like this!! 🙂
These taste AMAZING! I added the extra banana, a little bit extra cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of raisins. They came out super moist and smelled SO good. I will keep using this recipe to make breakfast from now on. 😀
LOVE. I made these to have for snacking and they are fabulous. Fun and easy to make.
I just made them and they seriously tasted amazing <3 made exactly how the recipe told me (including sweetener) and it turned out better than I expected to. Also I made applesauce myself (For those who are wondering how – Cut 2 apples in small pieces, took the skin off, placed them in a pot added 3/4 cups of water and simmered them on a medium heat, covered with a lid for about 20 min or until the apples became a mushy and then I mashed them with a potato masher. That is it . Makes a great breakfast or a substitute for a recipe that calls for a unsweetened applesauce. And it's only 50 cal (Or less) per serving which is 1/2 cup 🙂 ) Thank you or this amazing recipe. <33333
That moment when you read the ingredients and realize that you have all of them.. MUST… MAKE… THEM!!
Tomorrow, cause its night time now :p 😀
what would you say 100g would be in cups?
about 1 cup. I used 1 cup and it worked 🙂
They seem so delicious, and I really wanna try making them, but I would like to know, if the egg white is important or you can use something instead of that?
I don’t have anything eggs in the house, sadly. Gonna try and make them, when I get eggs, or if I can use something instead of egg white?
I don’t have any bananas, so is there anything else I can use? Could I skip the banana and just add extra sugar to compensate?
Hey 🙂 is there anything that you could use to substitute the apple sauce? 🙂
i used oil instead of the apple sauce and they’re pretty good i’m surprised how well it came out
This is my second time making these. They are delicious. 😀 I made two batches. I used rolled oats instead of the instant packages. Still really good. I think these would taste great with some nuts in them too. Might try that next time. Maybe some chopped almonds. I always come up with 12, so maybe the person who got 8 should have divided the mix a bit more to get 12?
I love these muffins. 😀 Haven’t tried them with fruit on top yet. The first time I forgot and this time I didn’t have any available. I like that you can change up the recipe.
These were amazing my mum and my sister loved them as well!! Thank you Cassie!!
Hey Cassie! I was wondering which other type of flour I could use to lower the amount of calories and still keep the muffins super fluffy and tasty? These look great! Thanks for the recipe!
i used self raising and they worked lovely, not much difference in the way of calories. didn’t have baking powder but still used soda….delish i loved them! added some cocoa and lemon juice to mix things up. I love how moist they turn out! Making for my mum on mothers day because she’s on weightwatchers!
Thanks for the recipe! I made these tonight and they turned out great. Followed the recipe exactly but only got 8 muffins out of it. Still, even with 8 vs. 12, the nutritional value beats all other banana muffin recipes that I’ve seen.
So I just made these and they turned out perfect! I used only two bananas but it was just the right amount of sweetness! I was going to taste only one but then I ended up eating two more! Oops!
When you say instant oatmeal, do you mean the little packets of oatmeal that you can buy or quick cooking oats?
I used rolled oats the second time and they tasted great, so any kind of oats should be fine. (I used the instant packaged oatmeal the first time).
Thanks for this recipe! It’s so versatile! I changed it a lot based on what I had on the pantry/fridge, and it still turned out really tasty. I left out the splenda, apple sauce, egg white and salt (I just completely forgot the salt!). Added an extra half teaspoon of vanilla extract, half a cup of honey, half a cup of sugar-free low-cal chocolate topping, a handful of chopped dates and a handful of chopped almonds. YUM! I just want to eat all of them.

I just made these with raw honey instead of sugar (since that’s what I had around) and they’re so good!
I just made these, but used fat free Greek yogurt instead of apple sauce cause that’s what I had, and they are fantastic. Thanks Cassey for all the great recipes.
omg! they were amazing. gonna bake them again today! 🙂 wooooh
Made this aswell 🙂 Loved the way it turned out. I made it without egg as we don’t eat it at home, added a little milk and nutmeg and it was amazing! Soft and fluffy and soo tasty! Everyone loves it at home and it makes a great snack!
Thanks Cassey 🙂
