I’m coming to London!!!

I’m coming to London!!!

Hey POPsters!

So if you watched the video above you’re in the know. If not…here’s the news…

I’m going to LONDON on Monday!!!! For the Olympics!!!

It’s gonna be my first time in Europe ever and I am going on behalf of YouTube. I am super duper excited to be headed over there and actually more excited that I will be in one place for an extended period of time. This month I honestly have not been at home for like more than 2 days at a time. First it was Anaheim for Vidcon – wait let’s stop for a sec. I never showed you pics!!!!

Harley from Epic Meal Time!!!! YEAHHHH!!!!

Mystery Guitar Man!!!!

WongFu Productions! I really wanna be in one of their web shows…that’d be so cool. My sister loves these guys!

MAJOR FANGIRL MOMENT. It’s Ryan Higa and the YTF crew. I died.

Mr. Chocolate Rain himself. Tay Zonday!!! I could hear his voice from a mile away. It’s as deep talking as it is singing!

…then it was Santa Monica for Livestrongwoman’s “Pilates Bootcamp” filming, then Philly for QVC, and currently I am in Austin, Texas (first time ever in Texas) filming some fitness vids with my friend Mike from SixPackShortcuts.

We filmed a funny group pump up video called “FLEX FRIDAYS” for his channel and then a few workouts together that you’ll be seeing next week!!!

I’m exhausted and my body feels it. In fact, my eating and working out has been all over the place. But you know, oh well, life happens and you gotta go where you gotta go!

I totally wanna do a Euro meetup when I get to London!! For my POPsters in the UK, who thinks they can make it? I don’t know where we should meet and how we should do it as I don’t really have connections over there. Could some of you email me at POPsterpost@gmail.com and let me know if you’re interested in coming to a meetup? I’d love to get to know you guys! We could totally do a live class and broadcast it across the world! How fun would that be? I think it’d be awesome.

I’m going to see if we could meetup at the new YouTube headquarters if they have a gym or meeting space there. If not, I will try to reach out to some gyms or something. It’d be nice to actually do POP Pilates to pop music. Otherwise, outside would be cool too.

I never thought I’d be going to Europe this soon, so I am so grateful that YouTube is sending me over there for 3 weeks along with 30 other channels to cover the Games and this awesome city. The program I am a part of is called “Creators Invade London” and there are several “teams” that are participating. My team’s name is Team How to Win and I am the only girl among like 5 other guys. One of the members is a fellow YouTube Next Trainer, Steve Roberts from STRSkillSchool. I am excited to meet him in person! We’ve been virtual friends since the program started like last Fall.

I am stocking up on clothes and shoes in the US as I hear everything over there is SUPER EXPENSIVE. I plan to only buy food, an international SIM card, and maybe a few souvenirs. But you know, I say that now, and it is probably not gonna happen. I don’t know what I will do about my gym situation but I do plan on working out hard, so maybe I should get a month long membership or something. Anyone London POPsters know of any good gyms I could join?
I hear that there are also some pretty cool tours that I should go on. Apparently the dungeon torture chamber tour is all the rage. As freaky and weird as it sounds, I have this quirky affinity towards scary things. As I kid I used to LOVE watching shows like Unsolved Mysteries, Beyond Belief, and reading books about hauntings and paranormal activity. Travel Channel and History Channel are both awesome.

If any of you have suggestions for what I should do while I am there, please let me know in the comments! I’d also love to go hang out with a bunch of you if you’re up for it! We need to get a facebook group together to start planning and talking! Actually…those location groups in the new Blogilates Community would be very helpful right now. (BTW community is in development!!!! SOOOO excited to get it perfected. I’ll let you know when it launches obviously but won’t be for a couple months. So hang tight! Suggestions appreciated!)

Okay, that is all for now! So yeah that was my BIG announcement! I’m headed to London! Excited! But not excited for the 10 hour+ trip over there. Someone please invent teleportation.

Have a fab weekend POPsters!

<3 Cassey

    Hey!

So as a Londoner and a regular reader/work-outer, I think it would be incredible to have a meet-up! London is one of the greenest cities in the world, with beautiful parks and garden around every corner, even in the city centre. Plus the weather has finally reached summer-like temperatures! 🙂

  3. Leanne says:

Definitely go to the London dungeon, it’s amazing! Pretty scary too! Haha

I’m so excited that you’re coming to London! I live half an hour South and was going to avoid it during the Olympics, but if there’s going to be a meet up I’ll definitely brave the chaos!

I can’t wait for the Blogilates community to come online. I’m moving to Switzerland in a month (iek, only a month left!) so I would love to start a new circle of friends with POPsters from the area.

    Love ya!

    CASSEY!!
I wish you were there in October because that’s when I will be in England! I actually was on study abroad in CA at UC Santa Cruz from University of York in England! My best friend goes to uni in London so I am there a lot. Apart from the cold and lack of sun, London is a great city. I recommend you going to Portobello Market (awesome vintage buys), Oxford street (SHOPPING!!), Soho (more shopping and cool shops) and go to as many restaurants as financially possible 🙂
For gym, most do limited term memberships, so if you tell me what area you will be in I can recommend you some! I tried a day at Nuffield Health Center and their classes and facilities are the bomb.
Have fun in London and please release more valslide inspired videos 🙂 xxx

I am in London and so excited to meet you, Cassey!!! London is definitely more expensive than the states, but if you know where to go (Like Primark, LOL) then you can get some really cheap stuff. Really recommend seeing a show on the west end (especially Wicked, which is my favourite one that i’ve seen), seeing some of the royal parks if the weather is nice (hyde park and speakers corner are cool!), afternoon tea somewhere nice (love the pubs in chancery lane, they do great afternoon teas.- Not to mention, go to a nice pub lol- especially on the riverfront somewhere like in richmond), museums…i could go on and on haha. Maybe you should just make me your tour guide 😛

  17. Van says:

Hi Cassey! So excited for you! Have fun in London!!

  18. Giulia says:

    Hi!!!
I’m so exited for you to go to London!!!
    I love that city!!
    Please, come visit Italy!!!

    1. blogilates says:

      travel will be so expensive!

  19. CaroOaks says:

    Hey Cassey,

If you like scary you should do the Jack the Ripper walking tour through Whitechapel, it is excellent and intelligent and a break from the tourist madness. http://www.jack-the-ripper-walks.com/

London is huge and the touristy circuit of London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower etc is crowded and tiring. Remember to get off the tube and walk to really get a sense of the place. I would suggest avoiding Oxford Street except do go to Selfridges, much better than Harrods in my opinion.

Brick Lane is indeed cool for clothes and funky jewellery, as Nadi says. There are so many great places to eat in the city and a lot of the ethnic restaurants have “areas”, like Edgeware Road for Lebanese, and Shoreditch for Vietnamese, so you can just decide what you feel like and head to that part of town. Enjoy the food!

The V & A museum is cool, esp the jewellery collection. Serious bling.

I’m looking forward to the post where you announce you’re coming to New Zealand!

      thank u for the tips!

  20. Amanda says:

Have fun in London!!! I wish I could be there with you, but alas, stuck here in America still. My fiancee is in London and I haven’t seen in him one and a half years! (he hasn’t even met our daughter yet!) Do me a favor and find him and give him a big hug for us!

It is pretty expensive there, but it is super easy to find out ways to live there inexpensively. I know you will probably take a cab or have a driver or something while you are there, but on the off chance that you take public transportation here’s a word or two of advice: buy an Oyster card and give yourself at least an extra hour to an hour and a half to get anywhere. Trust me!

    1. blogilates says:

I’ll be using the tube for sure. And I will give a big hug to ur hubby for ya!

  21. CarCar says:

I am glad you are in Austin. In my opinion, it is the best place in Texas to be. KEEP AUSTIN WEIRD! Though if I ever move back, I would love to see you in Dallas.

  22. Bex says:

Did London for two years, seriously hated it! Did Edinburgh for two years and it was awesome. But anyway definitely do London Dungeons if you like supposed to be scary/funny stuff. FORGET SHOPPING! But if you can get a flight, just for the day, go to Glasgow. A million times better shopping then anything in London and way cheaper for the same stuff at same stores. Totally do London bridge, the tower and Hyde Park. Love love LOVED Hyde Park, great little sandwich stand near Diana’s memorial fountain if its still there.

  23. MelodyJ says:

I’m so excited that you get to go to London. I can’t wait to hear/read all about it. I wish I could go too. I used to watch Unsolved Mysteries and Beyond Belief too. But I could never watch these shows by myself. Have a great time. There seems to be a lot of great suggestions here from the knowledgeable Popsters.

  24. Andrea says:

I’m soooo excited that you’re coming here. I finally have a chance to meet you. It’ll be a dream come true! You’re gonna love London. I live right in central London, about 2 mins away from the London Eye! 😀 A popsters meet up is a must 🙂 Where will you be staying here? There’s a lot of gyms here so it won’t be difficult joining one and you can get some pretty cheap deals too.

You must visit all the tourist spots like Picadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Tower Bridge, Tower of London etc etc.. And no doubt you will be in Stratford City where the olympic park is 😀 If you have any question, I’m more than happy to help you! 🙂 You’re gonna have an amazing time here in London! 🙂 xxx

    1. blogilates says:

      thanks for ur tips!

  25. Emily says:

I am so excited for you! I can’t even imagine all of the fun you are going to have. And you are also going to see history in the making. People remember the Olympics, and it is very old tradition, it is so cool to be taking part in something as monumental as that. I really hope you plane trip is nice and you aren’t seated next to a screaming baby or “overly talkative person”.

  26. Jingen says:

Ahhhhh I live in London! Please do a meet up! Haha

Please pack WARM clothes, London’s summer is very grey and rainy! There will be sun for about 5 minutes before rain again! So umbrella is a must ~
Go London Eye! If you travel by train, and go on to the website daysoutguide.co.uk to print out 2for1 vouchers for many many many attractions, including the London Eye!
Westfield Stratford city has loads of shops! There’s also a lot of market places to explore ^^

    WELCOME TO LONDONNNNN! Muahahah :d

  27. Céline says:

Go to Primark! It’s a market with cheap clothes, bags and all that stuff! (okay I know its probably still expensive for u because in the U.S everythings cheaper then here in Europe XD)

  28. Ida says:

You could get the London Pass if you want to do some sightseeing, and have a brilliant time xxx

  29. Ida says:

I live in the UK, I was so excited!! Except for the part where I’m leaving tomorrow. 🙁 It would have been so great to go to London meet up in London!! So devastated :'(((
How long are yous staying for??

Anyways, have fun in London and everyone else, you need o meet up!!!!! Have a great time guys. xx

    1. blogilates says:

      I’m there for 3 weeks!

  30. Sarah says:

Cassey, have an awesome trip to London! I spent last summer there and simply fell in love with it. Enjoy all the beautiful sights by the Thames!

When you feel like splurging a bit on food, you should check out Borough Market, Brick Lane, and all the other markets there. The eating lifestyle is so different in Europe, and I just loved experimenting with all the local markets! Also, Covent Garden is beautiful and is home to LADUREE, the famous macaroon place. It’s heaven with a side of espresso. Eating “cheat foods” is good for you occasionally to trick your metabolism, right?! 🙂

Warning: it’s really hard to find peanut butter in London! That’s probably a good thing, but just so you know. Have a wonderful time! Can’t wait to hear all about it!

  31. Nadi says:

London is one of the best cities in Europe and my personal favorite!
    You should def. see:
    – Camden Market (its craaaazy!)
    – do a sightseeing tour on one of the hop-on-hop-off busses, it’s a lot of fun and you get to see pretty much all the important sights (Tower, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, etc)
    – If you are there on a Saturday you should visit Portobello Market in Notting Hill, its beautiful!
    – Brick Lane is the new hip area, check it out! especially if you like vintage stuff/clothes

There is so much more to see!! I’m a little jealous, I wanna goooo! It’s been to long since I’ve been there last…
Have fuuuN! Take lots of pics!

  32. Roseanna brown says:

Thats fantastic! I live in Windsor just outside of london- by Windsor Castle (The Queens Castle). if you get time come and see it :)!! or do some pilates!! so excited i must email you as well!!

  33. Charley says:

I live in London, and so many people take it for granted – you’re gona LOVE it! There are plenty of gyms in London, if you don’t fancy them you could always take a morning run around Hyde Park or something. 🙂
If you need anything, info, travel info etc feel free to email me, I’m more than glad to be able to help! X

  34. Krysia says:

You’re coming to England? Sooo exciting! I’d love to come if I can make it to a London meetup because I’m only an hour or so away, but I don’t know much about gyms actually inside London :/
I’d recommend checking out the newish Westfields shopping centre, the London Aquarium, and, of course, the London Eye or the smaller and less touristy version, the Greenwich Wheel
Plus Madam Tussauds its always fun to visit, but last time I went, the queue’s were ridiculous, and the same is with most of the big attractions in London; it’s well worth buying fast track tickets to skip the long queues!
Good luck, and keep an eye on your valuables, because we’ve been hearing in the news recently that gangs of thieves from all over Europe are relocating to London over the summer for the Olympics, and pickpocketing in London is bad enough already! :s

  35. Julianna says:

that’s awesome! you must be so excited. btw, congrats on hitting 100 000 subs on youtube 🙂

  36. Kerry says:

Aw, I am a good 4 hours away from London but if there is anything happening that I can get down to I would love to try! Travel to London more crazy now Olympics about to start but such an amazing opportunity! Can’t recommend a great deal other than what’s been suggested. I hate London (sorry!) but as a Brit I feel like a foreigner in my own country as is sooooo busy & I can’t handle the fast pace. I like New York though funny that. People are different.

I hope the weather is good for you Cassey, we’ve had such awful time of it, very wet. Make sure you sample our Cadbury chocolate, Hershey’s doesn’t compare.

  37. Kate says:

Oh yes! And for the best gym ever go to Gymbox! Seriously, it’s amazing and so much fun 🙂

  38. Kate says:

Hi Cassey! So happy you are coming to London! It’s quite crazy here with all the preparation for Olympics!
I really love your videos and your positivity! That would be amazing to organise a meet up!
I don’t know if u are into pub culture but this is such a big thing here in England that you would probably wanna see some great traditional ones. I recommend The Captain Kidd pub at Wapping, very beautiful and right on the river bank. Also Kew Gardens, it is an amazingly beautiful botanical garden. Don’t miss Shoreditch!! It’s the best place to partyyyyy! 🙂
    Have fun in London! X

  39. Carly says:

That’s such a great opportunity! Are you still going to be posting new workouts on Mondays and Thursdays?

  40. Upasana says:

Have an amazing time Cassey.Meanwhile, i’ll do pilates like hell …just so i don’t miss you.:)

So give us UK fans your itinerary and we can see if a good old british welcome can be mustered! What What! 😉

    Hopefully see you there!

  44. Liya says:

Oh and you should sooo visit windsor and reading shopping centre…its just 20 mins away from london by train 😀 excited that ur coming…yay

  45. Su-yin says:

Am SUPER DUPER excited that you’re coming to London. Have emailed. 🙂

  46. Liya says:

I live just out of london. Its not that expensive but that depends where you go.

  47. Jess says:

Cassey!! I’m so excited for you! I won’t be in London then (I live in Devon, South West England) But… please make shore you go to an Istu restaurant, they are super healthy, you have to, it is amazing! http://www.itsu.com/

Also, make shore you go to Hyde Park and go on a paddle boat! It’s really nice to be in the city but it doesn’t feel like it because it’s such a big park!
There are so so many things to do aside from the olympics, I’m shore you’ll have a FANTASTIC time.

Best wishes, your always an inspiration!
    xxxx

    1. Jess says:

Also! go to Sweaty Betty! amazing women’s sport wear company!
      http://www.sweatybetty.com/
You’d love there colour sports bras 😀

      xxx

  48. Lamorna says:

    Hey cassey!

I can believe you’re coming over here! How exciting!

I live just outside of London, about half an hour from central so would love to meet up and take part in the live class too!

I’ll email the address above with details and ideas when I get home later!

    Hope to see you soon!

    Lamorna 🙂 x

  49. Olivia says:

You have to go to the London Dungeons, they’re so much fun and pretty spooky! You can also get 2 for 1 deals on tickets there so its not that expensive 🙂 a London ‘walk’ I can recommend is the Jack The Ripper one, its pretty inexpensive and meets at Tower Hill tube. Really interesting! Really hope you manage to do a meet-up/class while you’re over here.

  50. Leiahna says:

I went a few years ago and saw Buckingham palace and went on a river tour on the Thames and went on the Eye! the biggest farris wheel in the world! it was all awesome, I loved it there 🙂 it is a long flight though!

  51. hannah says:

I’m a new convert to PopPilates, but would love to come to a meet up if one happens. Keep us up to date!

  52. Ann-Kathrin says:

Awesome! I’m also in London for vacation for one week from Thursday on.it would be so cool if there was a meet up!! I would definitely join! Let us know where you go, where you eat…so maybe we can meet!

  53. Nin says:

That’s such exciting news! London is very expensive- I spent over a £100 during half a day at Stratford Westfield (the shopping centre by the Olympic Park) on basically nothing! Whereas the same amount of money lasted me a week during my holiday in Goa!
A Virgin Active gym is fantastic, but it depends on location…I mean your hotel may have a gym, but with regards to value for money a Pure Gym would be your best bet. It’s extremely cheap, well equipped but it’s a “no frills” gym so no sauna, pool etc. it does however get the job done and is open 24/7. Here’s the link: http://www.puregym.com/london-gyms as I’m not sure how many they have in London or if they’ll be close to you.

Most definitely pay a visit to Topshop on Oxford Street, which is right by Harrods (which is the ultimate window shopping destination!) you can while always Ages in there and then stop for a YooMoo frozen yogurt. They’ve got one exclusive to Harrods that they sprinkle with 23 carat gold flakes, alternatively they have much healthier and less decadent toppings too. Or head to the La Duree cafe in Harrods & try their macarons. Opposite is a cafe which does lovely tea, you can’t miss it but where ever you choose, afternoon tea is a must!

It’s worth paying a visit to the London dungeons, get an oyster card for the underground, Buckingham palace, Thorpe Park and the London Eye- there is honestly so much to do. London is a massive amalgamation of old and new, it’s seeped in history and culture and there’s always something exciting to do. You will lovee it 🙂

  54. Britt says:

Please take me with you !!!!!

  55. Daisy says:

Cassey you need to visit Harrods when you’re in London – it’s window-shopping heaven! Everything there is so luxurious (and ridiculously expensive) but the shop itself is amazing to walk round 🙂

I’ll be just north of London (Cambridge) next week and would love to join the POPsters meetup if it’s in the evening! I’m sure if you speak to either Fitness First or DW one of them will allow you to use their London gyms in exchange for a little mention on your site or videos. Give them a quick email and good luck!

    1. Laura says:

Maybe Bannatynes gyms or because it’s the olympics, leisure connection might do it.

I’m sure most gyms in the country would do it for a little bit of free promo on the site (i.e. just say their name, we’re pretty easy over here like that).

I’m just outside of Cambridge and would definitely be up for meeting up.

  56. Giselle says:

Hi Cassey, I’m so excited for your trip, congratulations!!!
I went to London a few years ago and if you are into history/scary things and guided tours you should check out London Walks. I found it on the nytimes.com travel section (highly recommended for all sorts of travel) in the comments section and it was the best recommendation ever. It is pretty cheap, and the guides are awesome, do this because they love it, and are usually “experts” in their fields. They have a “Jack the Ripper walk” (I didn’t actually go on it, but I’ve heard good things). They also have a British museum tour, pub crawls, church crawls, and they even do some short day trips. I wish I could have done all of them, but I was only there for 3 days. One of the best parts is that you actually WALK around the city, so you feel like you get to know the streets a little, rather than being stuck in a tourist bus listening to a recording. Oh, and the groups max out at 10-15 so you will absolutely be able to talk to the guide 1-on-1 and not have to strain to listen around a huge group of people.

  57. RachelManton says:

Omg I really hope you will like it here in London! and yes you’re right everything is more expensive!
Fitness First is a good gym and there are a bunch in London but it depends on where you are staying because travel around London can be a nightmare and you can get just a one month membership :).
You are so lucky you are coming this week because the weather is going to be amazing. Still pack a parka though it is England after all! ha ha xx

  58. Mer says:

On ogorgeous are you going to make wallets?
    Congratulations on going to London

  59. Heather says:

I would totally be down for a UK meetup!!

  60. Szeyee says:

OMG Cassey and WongFu & Ryan Higa! WHOOO my most loved Youtube stars!

  61. Kat says:

WONG FU!! I love those guys!
    Have fun in London =D

  62. Carolyn says:

So exited for you to be here! =D I can totally recommend a gym and other fun stuff to do here! =)

  63. Monique says:

    Dolphin Square’s gym! 😀
