WORKOUT DETAILS

Hey guys!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a lovely weekend. I decided to take the weekend to ACTUALLY rest this time. I cooked a bunch…made some healthy chicken pho (I used shredded cabbage and sauteed onions instead of vermicelli noodles so that it would still work within my 28 Day Reset meal plan), I made chili, and also curried chicken salad! It felt sooooo good to just listen to podcasts and cook. Been getting my PIIT28 on daily, feeling strong, and feeling very refreshed and relaxed.

The only thing that has been bothering me lately are my dreams. I have no idea why but I’ve been having nightmares every night and then I wake up at 4am consistently. They are very dark dreams too – I’m usually fighting for my life or trying to escape from predators or something. It’s odd too because I would say I’ve been more relaxed than usual and I have been getting more sleep than usual. I don’t feel stressed at work at all…so it’s peculiar. Anyone have an inkling as to why this may be happening?

Anyway, here is your new Monday video! I decided it was time to switch things up and hit you with some never before seen abdominal exercises! You ready for Happy Hard Core Abs? It may make you a little unhappy to begin with…but promise you will be smiling when you’re done!

Also! Did you have a chance to try Quick Cardio Booty Blast yet? This one is a KILLER that only takes a few minutes to complete. Give it a shot and challenge yourself! It’s kind of like a PIIT dance on the mat. You’ll love it.

Also guys…there will be a huge update coming to this blog soon. A whole new look and a whole new way of navigating! We’ve been working on the design for over a year now and we cannot wait to debut it to you! I am hoping to release the new look sometime this month. Not sure when…but soon! Ah, and speaking of updates…there is a new Blogilates App update! You can now SAVE YOUR WORKOUTS in the Workout Timer! For those of you who do HIIT or PIIT28 workouts, you know that this feature is LIFE.IMG_4360And if you don’t have the app yet, well what’s holding you back? It’s free to download!!! (The timer is a one time in-app purchase though!) Go download the Blogilates App on the Apple App Store or in the Google Play Store! To everyone working hard and killing it – whether you’re doing PIIT28 1.0 or the Blogilates Workout Calendar – super proud of you for taking it way past January. You’re showing me that you’re motivated and in it for life.

Cassey, I know this is late but may be of interest re: 4 am nightmares. I, too, used to wake around 4 am and woke feeling uneasy and uncomfortable. I would check everyone and everything, not knowing why or what made me worry, before returning to fitful sleep until the alarm rang. I became a teacher, (preK and K) and took a class on Women’s Studies (1974, U of Texas Austin) and learned everything from the origin of the word and procedure “Hysterectomy” to what the Arsenic Hour and the Witching Hour were. Evidently women routinely have had to rise early to tend to business ( fetch water from the well, etc.) and other early risers defended their sleeplessness by swearing the ladies were up to no good, accusing them of evil doings. When I began teaching, several co-workers had the same 4 am experiences, some with nightmares, like you. We decided healthy, busy women probably share this habit for good, not evil, reasons. I’m retired and my kids are gone but I still wake between 4-5 am, and still have to check the locks, doors, sky, dog, refrigerator, etc. ! Then at 4 pm, it’s the Arsenic Hour….when, at the end of a long day, a mother might settle the household down by either lacing her kids milk with arsenic, or her wine with arsenic. I remember one book had a drawing of a Victorian-era lady in her corset, bustle, long sleeves, high neck, and frazzled hair viewing her running, yelling , boisterous kids careening through the house while the cooks frantically prepared dinner. Dad sat, cool as a cucumber, in front of the fire, reading his paper and drinking his whiskey. He is looking at mom, as if to say, “What do you do all day? Why don’t you handle your kids!” Maybe that arsenic laced drink is for dad, but we’ll never know! Anyway, none of us ever acted out over our discomfort, but it sure seemed to be a theme with my peer group, and we often met after work at our own Happy Arsenic Hour!
Hope this helps you, because you can be assured when you wake at 4 am, there are probably women awake in homes all around you (and not so near, like me), , making sure all is well for family and pet alike! After all, that’s what we women do, isn’t it! PS: I’ve had the same nightmare for at least 40 years! Agghhhhh!!!

    Hey everyone!

I need some advise. During the summer I did blogilates. I worked out every day and followed the calanders! But, then there was school again …

lateley I picked up working out again. But I just can’t follow the calander! working out for an hour every day is to much in my shedule. (to bad 🙁 ) Now, i’m trying to work out at least 3 times a week, but is that enough? will i see some results before summer is there?

My biggest concern is my legs. I hate wearing shorts or dresses. I just want my legs to be a little more sculped, so that they are not blumping around all the time.

does someone have any advise for me? Thank you so much 🙂

    1. Christina says:

Hey! I understand you on the time constraints. Doing cardio will help burn the fat and make the weight training part of your exercise more effective, so I’d suggest doing one of Cassey’s cardio workouts (especially the exercises that make you jump up and get back down again, like burpees and things like that), and then do some weight training exercises like anything related to the legs and butt- which will help the jiggly thigh problem we all have. At the very least, do a cardio session and then a leg/butt workout (or a few of those workouts in a day, even spaced throughout the day) as often throughout the week as you can. You’ll also want to do workouts that focus on other muscle groups at least once a week too so your muscles don’t get too far out of balance (Having thick strong legs, but jiggly arms and a weak back).

  3. MacK says:

As for dreams, I find that 90% of the time, it’s just my body trying to adjust itself in the night, either because I drank too much water close to bedtime and need to use the washroom, or I’m sleeping on a strange position and need to re-position, or my muscles are tight or spastic and need a good stretch. The body has some cray cray tactics to make me leave my bed lol. The other 10% of the time is mental, and in those times I try to think what is really so critical that it needs to/can be done at 4am and if that doesn’t help, I actually go to youtube and play sleep hypnosis videos for relaxation, especially Jody Whiteley. I don’t think I’ve ever actually listened to any of her videos all the way through, because I always fall asleep!

  4. Anna says:

    Hi, Cassey!
All the nightmares and dreams have a meaning. I learnt to decipher the message of my own dreams by the teaching method of Gayle Delaney’s books. She’s a psychologist specialized in the meaning of the dreams. Meet with her!!

  5. Lauren says:

    Hi Cassey,
I just wanted to tell you what an influence you’ve been to me. I was depressed because of eating disorders, and felt angry every day. I was very skinny but for some reason thought I was too fat so I went online to find some “weight loss videos”. I found “The ULTIMATE Hot Body Workout for Flat Abs, Slim Inner Thighs, Perky Butt & Toned Arms”. I was intrigued and so I did the video and DIED. I couldn’t even get through the first 5 minutes and I realized that I needed some serious changes. You helped me through my mental illnesses and later on, when I (stupidly) stopped doing your videos and started binge-eating, you helped me again through that. You are one of my biggest idols! Never stop what you do and don’t listen to anybody who puts you down. The Blogilates community has been by far the most inspirational group I have ever been around, and I thank all of you for helping me.

Also, about your nightmares, I used to have crazy nightmares until I started listening to some white noise and calming music and stopped my time in front of screens.

    Hope this helped!

  6. sara says:

Forever grateful for your positive influence.
    Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!

  7. Carri says:

I am excited to see the new website but I hope that doesn’t mean you are getting rid of the blogilates app because I love the inspiration that community gives!

I’m sorry about your dreams. I would suggest Journaling. Write down how you feel during the day, what’s on your mind, what are the dreams about and try to see if there is a connection. Good luck! Xo

  8. Candice (Naturopathic Student) says:

Not sure if this is completely true, but increased levels of B6 can actually make dreams appear more vivid. Also my friend who is a psychologist tells me that we actually shouldn’t be able to remember our dreams or remember dreaming at all. It means that you may not be falling deep enough into REM sleep and may be waking up during the REM (deep/restful part) of sleep, which means you can remember your dreams. Maybe consider good sleep hygiene, herbal medicine, acupuncture and nutritional medicine in order to help you reach deeper, more restoring sleep. Hope this helps!

  9. Linda says:

    Dear Cassey,

I’ve read about your nightmares and I have a few thoughts about it that I would like to tell you, if you want to.
I work as a spiritual teacher and so my thoughts about your dreams are from a spiritual point of view. You’ve explained that these dreams are coming now in this time when you are more relaxed and getting more sleep as usual. So, my feelings are normally you are high in activity and your mind just don’t have the time to handle with anxieties, sorrows and so on. Our mind is able to bear down these feelings.
Now with more relaxation, these feelings start to appear on the surface and they want to be heard and noticed.
Perhaps you can figure out what these dreams are all about: which fear do they all have in common?

I think you know what I try to say with my not so perfect english (I am from Germany).

    Love and Light
    Linda

  10. Jess says:

please no hate, but ever since i became a christian i honestly cannot remember the last time i had a nightmare. And i used to have them all the time

    1. Beth says:

I completely agree with Jess! I’m really sorry about the bad dreams, I know first hand how much they can mess with your day. I had tons of nightmares all the time, but when I became a Christian, they stopped. I really suggest thinking about it. If you have any questions let me know.

  11. jessica says:

i need more saddle bag exercises , its bothering me soooooo much i could cry

  12. Nelida says:

Your dreams could mean that you’re fighting some inner conflict, maybe its something you need to workout. Stay strong Cassie! Thanks for all your hard work <3333

  13. Alysha says:

    Cassey –
I’ve been having weird/upsetting dreams too, and they started around the same time as PIIT28 and the 28 Day Reset. I thought it was just my body getting used to the changes and/or PMS, but if you and some other POPsters are going through something similar… I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Anyway. I look forward to the new changes happening here. Oh. And I’m absolutely loving PIIT28 and the Reset! Thank you so much for your guidance and love!

  14. I’ve not read any of the other comments regarding your dreams but my guess would be that you are subconsciously fighting to not be knocked down. You’ve worked hard to get where you are physically, professionally, personally, etc and you might be feeling challenged in one or more of these areas of your life. Best wishes. = )

  15. Erin says:

    Hi Cassey!

I am a student who is currently studying for her boards in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and I stumbled upon your blog when reviewing some type of workout to do because i have been so stressed with studying lately. Just a suggestion for those dreams, try to relax earlier and try not to be on anything too stimulating before you sleep. (just like the above suggestion^) You are on such a huge adventure for this year, it seems even though you are doing all the proper things that should help with relaxation (sleeping more, eating better, exercising etc.) you are still not able to shut off your mind -thus you’re waking up with anxiety driven dreams and waking up at that unusual time. Or maybe for the week your digestion has been off, or perhaps this actually occurs more often that you think at a certain time but you haven’t been totally aware. I’m biased..obviously but i definitely would recommend some acupuncture/acupressure/or chinese medicine herbs, but it’s because I truly love and believe in it (which is why I’m pursuing it as my own career) =) I hope everything goes well! And thank you for all the encouraging videos!!

  16. Sally says:

Hi Cassey, so I have been having the same issue and according to my doctor if you have a mild form of adrenal fatigue it’s not uncommon to have disturbing dreams and wake up alert around 4 am. So maybe go see doctor? I was dealing with it for months and mine had me start taking liquid multi vitamins (even though I eat super healthy) and garlic supplements along with apple cider vinegar, it’s been two months and now I sleep through the night and no awful dreams. But everyone’s different.

  17. ana says:

Hey guys so I am a little confused on where to find the “Corelicious” video, I already downloaded the app but still cant find it. Help?

    1. Anna says:

      This is my problem too.
Please help us, I just began exercising with Cassey, so I’m novice.

Cassey, you’re amazing woman and you are the only one with I have fun every day about exersices.
and I’m sorry for my bad english, i’m not good at it but I undestand you when I watching your videos! So I’m really happy. I love you! 🙂

    2. Caitlyn says:

Ana if you go to the tools section in the app, then the workout calendar for the month, corelicious is the exclusive video for the month so it should be right there. you may have to subscribe to the monthly calendar but you can find it there!

  18. mandy says:

Maybe now that you’re more relaxed, your mind is rehashing things from your past or something like that.
I hope it’ll soon pass ! I sometimes have scary dreams (more like nightmares) too, maybe try some homeapathy 🙂

  19. I’ve been having some nightmares too–it might be something about your stress levels this past week seeping in to your dreams, or it might be that you’re experiencing digestive issues. As for the dreams–freud analysis, anyone? Haha 🙂

What kind of podcasts do you listen to? I hope you do a podcast–I always multitask while listening to podcasts and I’d love to hear your voice while i’m meal prepping/walking/whatnot 🙂

  20. T says:

    Hi Cassey,
Wondering if you might be able to release an availability for the app on Kindle? Lots of people have Kindle tablets. : – )
    Love you,
    T

  21. Liz says:

Cassey, I want you to know what a blessing you have been to me. You are helping my body and mind. I will pray about these nightmares for you. Second Timothy in the Bible says that ‘God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.’ May He bless you with peaceful sleep so you can keep helping others.

  22. Josefine says:

So sorry to hear about the dreams.. 🙁
I’ve had nightmares for a while now too, but they usually go away after a week. They come and go in different times in life, hopefully yours will go away soon too.
    xoxo

  23. Mandy says:

    Hey Cassey!
Sometimes I have reoccurring bad dreams too. What I do to avoid them is try to think of uplofting things as you are falling asleep, or you can think about all the good things that happened in your day. Although we can’t control our dreams, this seems to help me! I hope my little tip helps you because you help inspire me every single day! You are my WCW everyday <3

  24. Jessana says:

Everything is looking and feeling great Cassey! Sorry to hear about the dreams though 🙁 I looked it up online, and it seems to say that if you’re running away from something it can mean that you want to leave an area of your life and could be afraid of facing it, or fighting could mean you have an inner or outer conflict with someone or yourself. But it could always mean something else. Hope they stop soon! 🙂

  25. Ann says:

I am sorry to hear about the dreams. I have crazy dreams all the time, but they aren’t usually scary one. Just ones that make me go, “WTF was that!?” I have a comment about the newest Ab workout that hopefully will give you a laugh. After doing this workout, my abs were not really happy. 😛 I was happy, my abs, not so much! <3

  26. Alli says:

Nightmares can be telling of some sort of spiritual discomfort. I’m not sure if you’re religious, but I read verses like Matthew 11:28-30. Fill your mind with truth before you sleep. Pray over yourself. Those are my recommendations 🙂 not trying to be pushy, just my personal experience!

  27. Tina says:

Speaking of the app, the exclusive monthly videos never work right for me 🙁 They always freeze, and then the audio and video become out of sync. Is there any way to fix this?

  28. Linda Smith says:

Ahhh yay so excited for the update to the timer. It’s amazing Cassey listens to her community 🙂 sorry about the dreams. For me I noticed I will go months without a bad dream then bad nightmares for a week then it’s over with. I’m not sure why that happens

  29. S says:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWSyW5SS6oc
    reminds me of this, somehow.

However, it could mean a lot of things. I think you simply have to stand them – they’ll end soon.
    Just like V said

  30. bern says:

OMG so excited to see a new website layout ? hopefully that means a new app layout some time soon too??? ? as for the dreams, I totally feel the same way – I often get terrifying nightmares even though I feel totally relaxed. in fact, come to think of it, I got way more nightmares when I was home over winter break than I do when I’m actually in college. I don’t know what it means, but I hope we both get over this phase soon! love ya cassey! (: just did your abs PIIT today and it’s safe to say that my abs are in the PIIT… of HELL HAHA

  31. Joules says:

Excited to see the new look!

    Lifestyle by Joules

  32. V says:

I think the nightmares are some kind of manifestation of stress that’s releasing from your system now. Sort of like detox of your unconscious. I hope you’l lhave more pleasant dreams soon.

  33. Elizabeth S. says:

That is very peculiar about the nightmares, Cassey! It’s so weird what we do in our sleep sometimes. I clench my jaw in my sleep from time to time whenever I’m stressed out, but rarely ever remember my dreams (I always wonder what’s going on, though!). I would say maybe try meditating a few minutes before bed, turning off all electronics and taking time to really relax. I hope it gets better! Looking forward to seeing the new layout, and also looking forward to PIIT 1.7 Core Crusher tomorrow! Thank you Cassey, for all that you do! You are such a positive force in this world! <3
