No-Bake Raw Vegan Cupcakes!
No-Bake Raw Vegan Cupcakes!
Hey guys!
Can you see me?
I know, I’m super camouflaged. Literally obsessed with my new Christmas Sweater. I am so getting my lil sis one too so we can match! I love it!! Have you guys attended an “Ugly Sweater Party” yet this December? They are always so much fun!
Now…I have something very very special for you guys! Look…
No-Bake Cupcakes!
Here’s the video if you would like to follow along! My friend Kristina from FullyRawKristina came all the way from Texas to visit me and we got to spend all day together cooking and working out. It was so much fun!
You can get our fun yoga mats here.
Also, I want to address something here because I’ve seen some pretty weird comments on both of our videos. For some reason, people think that because of how differently we eat, we can’t be friends. In fact, I saw someone write that vegans and non-vegans are supposed to be “enemies.” Wow. That is a harsh word. Enemies? Really? Are we really Montagues and Capulets here? Cuz even Romeo & Juliet were able to find love. Others said that if Kristina didn’t “convert me” then what’s the point of us being friends. Once again, is your nutrition a religion or is it a way to nourish your body? I mean, I don’t think I need to repost any more comments, but I hope you are able to see what I see here: close mindedness. It is difficult to inspire change when someone tries to impose their ideaologies on you and talk smack about you when you aren’t doing things their way. When your child does something you don’t like, do you call them stupid and ugly and berate them? No, you teach them. You teach them why. And you do it in an encouraging way so that they can find the fire to change within them. It’s called compassion. Vegan or non-vegan, I will love you for YOU. Atkins, Paleo, Keto – whatever and however you eat – I will still love you for who you are and how you treat me and other people. I don’t judge people who eat fries and burgers and can’t walk up the stairs without taking a break. I see an opportunity to inspire. With that said, I really appreciate plant based food as I find it so creative how you can cook without animal product! (I’ve been integrating vegan and vegetarian food since I was young, so I’m very happy to be learning even more new recipes from friends as I get older!) Though you and I may not be 100% vegan, I do encourage everyone to add more fruits and veggies into their lifestyle. They are full of vitamins, minerals, and are extremely nutritious. Everyone’s body is different – experiment with your food and see where you feel at your best and most energetic! Anyway, here’s me and the lovely Kristina working out together!

Cassey, I’ve recently purchased medjool dates to make all these healthy recipes including this one but when looking up at the nutrition values of them, they’re around 66 calories per date! That’s incredibly high for such a small piece of fruit! So if I were to snack on them, does it mean I can only have one or two of them? Any advice?
Thanks so much!
Hey Cassey!
The cupcakes look SO GOOD, sadly I don’t like cashews but I like the easy no bake recipes you do. Also, an inquiry, does anyone know where you could get beet powder? Thanks!
On another note, while saying vegans and non vegans can’t be friends is ridiculous, there is a point you made about being vegan as just a way of eating. Now, I personally am a vegetarian, but at the risk of being an ultracrepidarian, I will say that most vegans I have known see being vegan as more than a dietary choice. It goes to, for some (not all) vegans to clothing, products you use in your life, etc. and is has to do with your ethics, morals, and beliefs. Of course, people with different beliefs can still get along fine, it would be wrong to say they couldn’t, but, I just wanted to point out, for some, it’s more than just something dietary.
Love your videos and blog Cassey!

Hey Cassey!! the cupcakes looked and sounded sooo good! but I’m a student studying abroad and I don’t have a food processor. nor a blender :/ sad. Do you mind posting more videos of simple ingredients and easy recipe? :DD Thanks you so much!! Happy new year! 2016 😛 I was so excited when I was printing out the January Calender!
Love you both – two of the most inspiring health and fitness youtubers!
Hi Cassey, I always feel a little bit sad when I see comments of people trying to be exclusive, but I think it is because (in general) being part of something exclusive makes people feel better about themselves, and they have that feeling of belonging to something. That being said, I think being inclusive leads to a happier and more open-minded life. Plus, the inclusive group is way bigger. Respecting and accepting each other can be hard, but it is worth it, at least in my experience. Compassion connects people in a way that anger never can.
My mother-in-law has a very strict diet, and she is used to a life of preparing her own food ahead of time when she attends dinners and gatherings. If she is hosting a dinner, she’ll go out of her way to make sure there are gluten options for those who don’t want to try gluten-free food. So in return, when we have her over for dinner, I always make something that she can eat without worrying. I don’t do it because she’s my mother-in-law, I do it because she’s a wonderfully kind person who deserves to be included through a part of her life that has always excluded her from others. Eating gluten-free food doesn’t harm me, so why not? It’s like how people used to divide themselves into “cat-people” or “dog-people.” Well, I have both, and they are both trained to come and sit and stay. I’m still working on shake hands.
Saw you wearing this sweater in iisuperwomanii’s new video! So cute <3 xoxo
I’ve never tried no-bake cupcakes! I’ll have to give it a try and let you know. They look delicious and are so cute. Thank you for sharing, and you look adorable in your Christmas sweater!

Hey Cassey, those cupcakes sound SOOOO good!! I must try them. Love you Cassey! Merry Christmas
First, those cupcakes sound SOOOO good!! I must try them immediately. Yum!
Second, veganism for me and for a lot of people is more than just a diet, it’s a representation of my ethical beliefs. As the biggest thing you can do for the planet, it is hard to see others not being vegan, but I keep my mouth shut about it because you’re not going to convince anyone to become vegan if you shout at them and tell them they’re being horrible or something like that for eating animal products. People don’t respond to that. But I think the enemies idea comes from people who do tell omnivores that they are “horrible” or whatever, and then they get defensive and everyone fights and it’s just crazy nonsense that doesn’t help anyone.
Hey Jade I am interested in becoming vegan and was wondering if you could give me some advice on how to get started? Thanks and God Bless
Dear Cassey,
Firstly, I want to say that your position in this discussion is completely justified and I see it that way too.
Anyhow, I think for vegans it really is a lifestyle closer to a religion than to a way of nutrition. That means they chose veganism because of ethical issues about how animals are treated in our community. And it might also go beyond that. So I kind of get their point because they want to spread the word and make the world a better place to live. And I kind of understand that it can be hard not to judge people when they refuse to participate in making the world better. It’s a bit like when someone throws their garbage on the street not caring about the environment. But saying that vegans and non-vegans can’t be friend would go way to far. I have a good friend who’s vegan though I am not. And he tells me about his concerns and spreads his message but he’d never push someone with their own decisions. And I listen and take the best from it, learn from it and maybe also change something about my habits but that doesn’t mean that he’s aiming to “convert” me. So it’s a bit of a difficult topic but so far that’s my opinion on it 🙂
Love, Heike
Enemies? That DOES sound s bit harsh! We can all be friend despite different nutrition plans.
This is why I love you Cassey! You inspire people to love everyone around them, starting with themselves. You motivate me to love myself even when I want to judge myself. I love your workouts and your positivity! You have definitely inspired me to love taking care of my body and keep an active lifestyle!
