Fresh Strawberry Protein Pancake Recipe + Weight Loss Twitter Chat

I wanted my next post to be the juicy bikini comp vlog/bikini booty thong workout video but since it is taking eons to upload, I will share with you a new creation I made tonight!

Well, it’s not toooo out of the ordinary. I took my regular Pre-Contest Protein Pancakes and added strawberries. Yup!!!! Because now I can have fruit again!!!!!!! BAM!!!! 🙂

Ohhhh lovely little red bits.

20120510-002825.jpg

I got a new pan or griddle type thingy that can now accomodate more pancakes at a time. Efficiency in the kitchen. OHHHH yeah.

20120510-002837.jpg

Look how fluffy they are! I think they turn out so well because of the protein powder I am using. Met RX is the brand and you can get the vanilla or chocolate flavor at Trader Joe’s for about $23.99.

I gotta find a way to make health freak syrup. That would definitely complete this picture.

Here are the ingredients for 1 serving. And yesssss these ARE the calories for 1 serving or the whole batter! Yes IT IS that amazing and NOT too good to be true!!!!

INGREDIENTS:

– 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (I used Met RX)

– 1 TBS psyllium husk

– 1 whole egg

– 3 strawberries chopped

– About 1/2 cup of water (or soy/almond milk if you like it creamy)

NUTRITION FACTS:

222 calories, 6g fat, 14g carbs, 30g protein

Enjoy POPsters!!! I cannot wait for your butt to literally DIEEEEEEE in my next video which is uploading RIGHT NOW onto BlogilatesTV. Are you subscribed yet? You better be! For you new ones, I have 2 channels. My old channel Blogilates is where I first started and  still upload workouts with Top 40 pop music there. I had to start a clean 2nd channel that didn’t have pop music because I kinda got in trouble for copyright stuff with the music. That’s what BlogilatesTV is! If I were you, I’d sub both because I still upload to both!

Thew new video is like over 20 min long. It’s really good and I talk all about the ins and outs of the bikini comp throughout the whole video. I didn’t mean to make it so long but I guss I just had A LOT to discuss with you 🙂

Oh and one more thing before I go!!!

I cannot even believe the transformation. I have tried to lose weight many times in the past. Some things were somewhat successful, but it just seemed that I kept hitting a brick wall over the last year or so. I was pretty desperate by the time I made the choice to try this program what helped me lose 21 pounds in about 6 weeks

I FINALLY found the psyllium husk and got these to turn out beautifully! This is such a yummy recipe. Thank you so much Cassey!

I wrote a post about it on my blog if anyone is interested: http://bit.ly/1h6MNvc

For those of you that can’t find it: I found mine at a health foods store by the supplements. It’d probably just be easiest to ask someone if they carry it and have them guide you there.

  3. Eva says:

    Hi,
can anybody tell me, what´s psyllium husk? It can´t be translated in german.

    1. Rana says:

      i think it’s ‘Flohsamenschalen’

  4. Alex says:

OMG I love these!! I have been craving pancakes w/ butter since forever but because the pancakes I used to make are so high cal its been avoid avoid avoid. I put a light spread of low fat butter on top of these and it was heaven!

  5. Kristina says:

I totally tried making these. They turned out to be more like crepes than pancakes. Haha! Hopefully I can get it right the next time! Practice makes perfect! 😀

  6. Justina says:

Simply put, you need to give your body what it needs more than pure water, so make sure that you are not losing weight by
dieting vegan then too much of it. Its function is to suppress your appetite and you will burn more
calories even when you are trying to live a life that is as
    close to normal as possible.

  7. Stephanie says:

I wanted to try this but my batter turned out really watery and it didnt work….help!!!

  8. Heidi says:

Love these! I add a splash of pure vanilla extract & blueberries to the pancake and make a great syrup from strawberries. Cut up 3-4 large strawberries and place in small skillet (I use personal size cast iron skillet), add a small amount of water (1/8c?) – bring to a soft boil – mash strawberries with fork – keep enough water in pan so mixture is consistency of thick syrup, add small amount of honey (1/8 teaspoon?) and a pinch of cinnamon, stir. I added a splash of almond milk to make creamy. Pour warm syrup over hot pancakes. Delish! 🙂

  9. Hannah says:

Hey I dont have a griddle but I was wondering if you could just use a baking tray on top of the oven hobs?

  10. Jodie says:

These were so good! I love the banana ones but it’s nice to have a change/use my protein powder. The strawberries were good BUT I think next time I’ll try blueberries or maybe a raisin/cinnamon combo. I have a serious pancake obsession these days.

  11. horseluver0123 says:

HI, can you do this without the husk thingy? Just because we don’t exactly have that in our cupboard…………….

  12. Natalie says:

Loved it! Tasted alot better than i thought, and was incredibly easy to make.. perfect. Love the fact that you can vary them alot 😀

  13. Sweet blog! I found it while browsing on Yahoo News.
Do you have any tips on how to get listed in Yahoo News? I’ve been trying for a while but I never seem to get there! Thanks

  14. Ysa says:

Any suggestions on how to veganise this?

    Thanks!

    1. Jessica says:

Use rice or soy protein powder instead 🙂 Also, some egg substitutes you can try out are: applesauce, ground flaxseed, mashed banana, tofu, soy dairy-free yogurt, ener-G egg replacer, soy flour, or pumpkin puree. Hope that helped 🙂

  15. Keira says:

Tried out these pancakes about a week ago, and I’m totally hooked! Thank you Cassey for a wonderful recipe as I’ve been doing endless searches for healthy yet simple one 😛

For those that don’t have psyillum husk you can subsitute for ground flax seed or oat bran, and even replace the egg with a banana 🙂

  16. Adrian says:

I subbed with lowfat milk and crushed flax seed. Totally didn’t turn into a pancake haha

  17. Kelli says:

so i don’t have psyllium husk and don’t know where to
get it cuz i live in like a crappy place but would ground flaxseeds
    work okay?

  18. Emma says:

Hey girls/ guys, made these a couple of times & just wanted to put it out there that these are really yummy (thanks Cassey!!) but they are absolutely amazing with a bit of coconut oil mixed in to the batter 🙂

  19. Lucy Meskouri says:

Cassey a really nice sauce to pour over is coconut milk, lemon juice and a bit of stevia. Mix together and pour on! It’s actually to die for. You don’t need to use too much coconut milk , a tablespoon or 2 does the trick! XXX

  20. Chelsea says:

Hey Cassey, do you think the pancakes would work with replacing the whey protein with hemp or brown rice protein powder? How many tablespoons in a “scoop?” thanks 🙂

  21. ashley says:

I don’t really have a butt, so I was totally stoked to see this workout video. I couldn’t do all of it, but man is my butt sore today. I have always loved kim kardashian’s bootay. It has a nice shape, and she just has a nice womanly figure which i love.

  22. Liz says:

I made a similar version with ground flax and blueberries. If you add a whipped/stiff egg white to the batter it’s thicker and the pancakes are lovely and fluffy.

  23. Alexa says:

I tried to make these with flax blueberries and almond milk. They are very thin but they taste very good

  24. Ugh these look so amazing I need psyllium husk thought. Not sure where else I would use it though? I also don’t eat eggs I should try this w egg replacer! I saw these this am on fb and wanted them soo bad. Mmm still want them. Going to try them soon. I also wish I could make health freak syrup why isn’t it possible?!

  25. Kathrin says:

If only the protein powder wouldn’t be so expensive in germany….

    1. Martina says:

It is even more expensive in Czech Republic:-/ But did you try protein powder from DM? It is not the best protein, but I used it for pancakes and it turn out great;)

  26. Alanah Ferrelli says:

Hi! I love your blogilaties workouts so much! I’ve really felt great about myself once I’ve started doing them on a regular basis! You have also really helped me with my inner self, especially with your one quickie workouts, your happiness really is courageous! aha
As for your butt workout just posted, I love it! I can reallllly feel the burn! My favourite celebrity butt? I would 100% have to say Sofia Vergara. Her figure is very toned yet feminine at the same time, and her butt is ama-zing! lol I love the thong give away!!!!

    1. Alanah Ferrelli says:

oops posted this in the wrong spot :p

  27. devan says:

There really anyones butt that i would like to have since my own is a good size for my body, but i like megan fox’s. i think people who do weighted squats and other weighted moves of the sort have the best ass anyways 🙂

  28. Kerr says:

Deanna, I used ground flax & was fine! I have a box of variety ground seeds & berries mixes which I use.

I got 1 diddy pancake & 1 big one out of this mix & thick enough for me, next time I’ll be getting 3 out of the mix so sounds right. Cassey’s must be small??

  29. Katrina says:

Yum! I finally bought some of the Met RX today and tried the pancake recipes again. Yep, it definitely is the Met RX! My pancakes were fluffy and not crepe-like this time around 😀 I’ve been obsessed with making these protein pancakes for the past few weeks.

    1. Wendy says:

I bought some metrx as well but my pancakes still aren’t fluffy. When I add about 1/2 cups of water, the batter is really runny. Is that how yours is? I got mine at trader Joel’s as well.

      1. blogilates says:

hmmm no mine wasn’t runny, maybe just try out how much water works for u until it gets to pancake batter like consistency

  30. Flavia says:

    Hi Cassie!
I’m loving the look of these pancakes but one thing always bugs me: don’t protein powders lose some of their “power” (for lack of a better word) when heated?
    Please please let me know!
    Much love from Italy, xx

  31. Deanna says:

could i replace the physillium husk with ground flax? that’s what i have on hand

  32. now THAT sounds like my kind pancake recipe!!

  33. Kim says:

Are your pancakes quite small? I only get 3 pancakes out of this recipe.
