Bio video, Livin’ Life & Boyz

Hey POPsters!

My friend Ify from London made this cool video that I put in my “About Me” section. Not sure if you got a chance to see it yet, but if you were at the London meetup, you might be in it!! I’ve never really had a chance to talk about where I come from and how much I love y’all so click play if you’d like to learn a little more about me!

Hmmm…

You know…

This blog is about healthy living, fitness, eating, well-being…but I never touch on personal subjects. Doesn’t really go with the theme and can get uncomfortable with who may be reading this. I mean really – who is reading this!??

My blog is a place for me to write and motivate healthy habits for you guys and for me too. It keeps me accountable and it also is a wonderful outlet. It’s nice to know that you’re being heard and that someone out there cares. So that is why I kinda feel compelled to tell you guys what’s going on in other aspects of my life. Because maybe you would care to hear. You guys are my friends.

However I don’t feel like this is the appropriate place to do it 🙁

Sigh. Tug of war.

Let’s just say that I am having some boy troubles and I am in an emotional whirlwind. There’s days when things are good and I am up and days when things get confusing and I am down. You know how I like to give 110% to everything and I tell you guys to do it too? Well there is risk involved. Risk of falling down and getting hurt. But it’s ok. I think it’s worth it. No, I know it’s worth it. There’s no point to living life if you can’t live it to the fullest. It’s all about how fabulously you get back up. RESILIENCE.

Luckily there’s friends, music, and working out to keep my head clear and focused.

FRIENDS. It’s really important to be able to talk to someone when you’re having internal turmoil. It’s a healing technique. Don’t keep things within. You need to talk. Even if the person is just there to listen and not offer any advice, it’s what you need. You just need an ear.

MUSIC. As tacky as this sounds, Britney Spears has been consoling me with her song. Britney circa early 2000s. I know, makes me sound shallow and superficial, but hey, her lyrics (or whoever wrote her lyrics) really hit the spot as far as I’m concerned! Maybe I’ll do Taylor tomorrow.

WORKING OUT. The master of self-healing. This is MY hour to focus on getting stronger, getting more powerful, and getting myself to do things I didn’t think I could do because I believe in myself. Physical strength. Mental strength. Emotional strength. Exercising always boosts my mood.

Tonight was a weird night. I didn’t feel like working out.

That is a rare event for Cassey. Doesn’t happen very often unless I am sick. And even then I drag my butt out and do a lil something.

Anyway, I felt like blah and didn’t wanna workout. But I know myself. I was just letting my emotions take over. So I said no. Off we go. Put on my clothes, my shoes, and left the house and headed to the gym. I tricked myself as I left and said, it’s ok if you don’t wanna do it, just go light today. But when I got there and saw the machines and the people, I was a little more “in the mood” and said you know what, I think I can do sprints on the treadmill today and just kill it.

Cupcake Wars made it really easy to get through my sprints. (Love FOOD NETWORK!) I did 9mph on for 1 min and 45 sec off for 25 minutes total. Sparkled with sweat afterwards. Then engaged in some weight lifting to finish out the hour.

Yup! And that was that. I was done. And tomorrow is another day!

Hope you guys choose to live life passionately! That’s how you can experience all of life’s gifts and adventures to the fullest. Don’t be afraid to truly LIVE.

<3 you!!!

Cassey

You’re such a great person Cassie !!! You’re very inspirational, I’m a french girl of 20, and like you I had boy troubles, I feel a little down because one day I woke up and I realised that the reason I felt that way wass not because a boy let me down, but because I didn’t like the girl I was so I decided to change to be the woman I want to love and respect ! It’s a very long way and i’m quite desperate but I will succeed i’m sure ! Thank you for being so kind and funny, I’m sure you’re as beautiful inside as outside ! Everyone will get better in the end !!
Love from France !Come visit !!

    1. blogilates says:

i would love to come to france!

What an amazing video! Your story has inspired me. I have always wonder how is it that people get to do what they want, and that’s mainly because people take risks! As you did! Thank you for your energy and love! Finally, I totally agree with you. We can get hurt but that’s ok! I am alive and choose to live life to the fullest!
    Hugs 🙂

oh, cassey, i could never picture you beeing down. i am so sorry to hear you are going to some hard times. i, myself, go through a hard time, perhaps the hardest in my life, different stage in life-my 40, but what motivates me as you, is working out, especially your workouts, being healthy and trying to stay focused. i love your personality so much, and your workouts, and the fact that you are able to share with us your feelings! be strong and we love you so much!!!

  4. Sarah says:

Aww Cassey sorry to hear your going through some boy trouble:( I love that you talk to the community about your life, letting us in to get to know you. This is why I love working out with you, I love pilates but I also love you as a person. I get the same way when life gets in the way and I just am overly stressed I workout, I take all my emotions and frustrations out on the mat. Thanks for sharing with us and thanks for being you:)

  5. Joey says:

Feel better Cassey! Keep working out because it’ll only make him feel worse to see that you got even hotter after you guys broke up 😉

I’m sorry that you’re having boy troubles. I hope things start looking better for you. It sounds weird but you have been “in” my life for one of the biggest years I’ve ever had. Your strength and positive attitude helped me kick my ED, and now I’m healthy. You make a difference in others lives. You make it better, and healthier. So thank you. It’s strange to think that you’re only a few years older than I am and you have made so much of yourself. Ahh you really deserve it. I can’t say thank you enough, so thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Keep making the world more awesome!
PS. I totally love seeing videos about you, like this one and the video about how you spend your day. I feel like we’re friends and I get to know more about you.

    1. blogilates says:

so happy ur strong and better now!

  7. Amanda says:

I feel you on the boy troubles, Cassey. It is crazy how they can completely control how you feel day to day to such extremes. I’ve found it’s best to put it aside and fill your life with things and people that make you happy. If it’s meant to work out it will and if not it’s because there is something better coming along! Your videos and positive attitude really help me to feel stronger when something else is not going so well! Love you! 🙂

  8. Jodie says:

I really enjoyed that video! What a great way for people to get to know you 🙂

  9. Georgia says:

What a wonderful post :). We all go through relationship troubles. Relationships play a HUGE part in our health and wellness! Don’t be afraid to share as much as your are comfortable sharing. You have so many followers who totally understand what you’re going through! Thank you for the inspiration and amazing workouts!

Wouldn’t of thought possible! Your a wonderful person.
Do not worry about boy’s just be you and even if your
in a stump they will love you :). Do not ever sell yourself
short and do not worry about things that have already
happened. Not only can you not change what is in the
past but your past leads you to your destiny.
    Stay happy and healthy

Thank You, because now I have found the way to get rid of my thoughts about some man. Love You!

  12. Sarah B. says:

Totally agree that working out is my master of self-healing! That, and laughter, really are the best medicine.

  13. cvea says:

You’re an inspiration. It’s so nice that you want to share your life but I totally understand your reluctance. Don’t worry about the britney spears thing ^^ I always admired the way you don’t fear to be totally girly sometimes and talk about the stuff you like without worrying. You are not shallow you are authentic.
I hope your problems solve themself very soon!

  14. Brittany says:

I love the new video “about you” it is awesome. You are so motivational and inspirational I always look forward to your new workouts, healthy living tips and just your overall positivity it has helped me keep going so many times when I have just wanted to give up. Thank you so much!

  15. Liana says:

  16. Who’s reading this? A 18 year old girl from Norway atm! She adores you, and I don’t think you should be afraid of her :p

I have acctually been wondering wheter you could have time for a boy or not, and I’m really glad you shared this! I know putting your heart out there can be hard sometimes, but really, at the end – it’s probably worth it. I have the most aaamazing boyfriend that I’ve had for soon a year and mymymymy he has taught me alot! I had to kiss some frogs util I met my prince, but that’s okey. I hope it will stay this way foreeever. And it’s not like a little adventure would kill anyone, right? 🙂

  17. Ni Ni says:

Hope you feel better. My bf recently visited me for 5 days and we are now apart again. Having distant relationship sucks. Whenever I feel the blues, I would go hard on the work out! This way, I feel better & stronger both physically & mentally. Love you Cassey!

  18. Ary says:

Cassie i’m so sorry that you are having these problems. But i’m happy for this post, because you have showed us your emotions! 🙂 This is positive for me.
I hate people that say: “I haven’t problems, you are so boring, you create your problems, the life is perfect!” They are so false!
I love you beacuse you don’t wear a mask, you are like a book for us.
About Britney i love her too, her music is my best company!!! ♥.

  19. Diandra says:

Keep goin girl! you have so much going for you and yes it is always a scary risk!
For me and what keeps me in line, is my faith in God and knowing He is always there to guide me! I know that because I have such an awesome relationship with Him, He always holds me up, even when it seems like no other earthly thing or person can, even exercise can’t lift me like He does!

  20. Elizabeth says:

Sometimes writing about your personal life helps, and sometimes it doesn’t. In my experience, previously running a semi-popular blog centred around my personal life made me feel really pressured to be as perfect as possible. It’s hit or miss, but I wouldn’t turn down a small look into your daily life outside of being an awesome workout guru. (:

  21. Joan says:

    🙁 Love you, Cassey Ho.

It’s hard for me to give any advice on opening up to people, because I don’t really do it myself. I’ve never felt comfortable sharing, not completely…and that goes for boys, girls and even close friends (I’m a weird person). Poo. It sucks. It sucks even more that I’m aware of the “problem”, but never seem to break out of it. It’s a total defense mechanism, but I’ve learn to live in my own emotional shell. (Sound miserable! LOL) So, in my completely biased opinion: YES, keep your personal life out of your blog. LOL

Regarding your other topic of discussion, about how to push through:

Music and books have always been my refuge. And thanks to you, working out has often gave me a sense of purpose when everything else seems a little shaky. (Weird. LOL) Resilience USUALLY comes naturally to me. In many ways, it is sort of a mental exercise. I have learned not to dwell, to not feel sorry for myself, and to think about things both subjectively AND objectively. I’ve learned that I can’t completely control my environment or what happens to me, but I’m in control of myself and how I react. (Nerd fact: resilience is one of the themes in HP that made me love it so much!) But anyway, good for you. You know, when life keeps pushing, PUSH BACK! Or do SPRINTS. Your choice. <3

  22. Jame says:

I always pull out a few tracks by my fave band to push me through a funk:

You Can Do It by Brand New Heavies feels completely appropriate at the moment.

  23. steph says:

Hey Cassey! Hope things are better for you today but if some guy is causing trouble for you show him the door! You are a beautiful strong woman and no guy should make you feel like your anything less. Hope you are doing OK though. If he is a good guy you will be able to see it. Even when your emotions are crazy know that its OK to be crazy sometimes. It will all even out just give it some time. We are all here for you. Love and hugs, Steph

  24. Somaya says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMt3_p04XaQ This song is a reminder to everyone that no matter what happens, everyone is beautiful and should never be belittled or put down. Just put a smile on that beautiful face of yours. We love you.

  26. Patty says:

    It was my own heartbreak that lead me to your website. One night when I couldn’t stand the sadness and confusion I decided to try a workout I’ve never done to life my mood. Working out always makes me feel better so I googled “Pilates” and there you were. Been a fan since that day. I hope things work out for the best. They always do even if we can see it right now. {{{Hugs}}}

  27. Saima says:

i feel like that at the moment, in fact i was just thinkin 2012 is not my year and i can accept that but sometimes emotions just take over. I never show it to the outside, i’ll paint a smile on and carry on, and you know what, that can help me feel better.

thank you for your post, was truly heartfelt, every single person feels like that sometimes.

    Now smile after 3…1……2……3……….SMILE! 🙂

  28. Ludmila says:

    Dear Cassey,
boy troubles are a b**ch, but at the end of the day it’s his loss. You are amazing and anyone who cannot see that should really go get a heart from the Wizard! If you are up for a film night, try ‘The Women’. It has 0 men in it and the world doesn’t end (surprise surprise) Just makes you see we can do anything ourselves! Hugs!

  29. Michaela says:

I hope it works out for you!!
    Love can be so tough…

  30. Anastasia says:

I’d like to thank you, Cassey, for the positive energy you give. You’re just great! From Russia with love

  32. Nadi says:

    Great post Cassey! You’re amazing!
I’ve had major guy-problems this past year. I can’t even tell you how low I was at some points and some days are still hard, although so much time has passed since it all happend. But that was when I started working out and doing lots of PopPilates. It helped me sooooo much to get through that rough time of my life. So now my heart might be a little damaged (whose isn’t anyway?), but at least my body is smokin hot and my muscles hard as a rock ;P 😀
There are sunny days and there are rainy days – we should always make the best out of every day.
Lots of love and strength to you! Feel hugged!

  33. Mikayla says:

I LOVE the new video, Cassey! It does a great job of showing who you are, how Blogilates started and your vision for it, as well as some great exercises to get started. I also want to say that I’m sorry to hear about the boy troubles, but I applaud your bravery for sharing it with all of us. I appreciate your example too… you went and worked out even though you were feeling emotionally low. I believe that’s the best way to get through most of life’s challenges and what Oprah calls “walking through the fire” 🙂 I <3 U

  34. Hope says:

Hi Cassey! Yes, we are concerned about what you are going through because you have helped so many of us get through our yucky moments with your energy and amazing positive spirit. In saying that, it’s clear that you’ll have up and down days too, if only we could reach through the screen like you do for us and give you support as well. Just the other day I was having an awful day and it seemed impossible to get to my workouts…that’s all I wanted to do and still there were too many obstacles that day demanding my attention. My husband called and said that he was going to come home early so I could just get away and go to the gym. I told him that it was ok, I was going to workout with Cassey because she always puts me in a better mood. You have totally inspired me to finally forfill my life long dream of becoming a certified personal trainer. After my second child I began to watch your videos (I just Googled pilates and there you popped up!) and I realized that this is what I’ve wanted to do more than anything and you totally motivated me to just do it, no excuses…live life to the fullest and do what makes you happy! You have an amazing God given talent to inspire, motivate, and touch peoples’ lives, you are truely a blessing to so many people. Thank you. Just know that, even though we (popsters) can’t come through the screen to support you the way you do for us, that we’ve still got your back and we are very thankful that you chose this path because it has made so many lives so much better! Be blessed and keep on going girl!

  35. Kerry says:

Oh and Cassey…as inspiring as her songs are, please dont do a bald Britney look on us, I love your hair! Its so long & thick & healthy xx and it looks happy on your head

  36. Kerry says:

Hey, dont EVER feel you cant vent to us on your blog sometimes as you write you prob figure out the answers to your problems. Sometimes it does come across as though you are giving yourself a pep talk out loud & makes me smile. Very encouraging 🙂

Been married 3 years & it doesnt get any easier, relationships are always about sacrifices (on both sides never one sided) but if you have met your best friend & feel can not imagine your life without sharing it with them then you know in your heart they are worth the extra mile. Its hard work. You need to be truely happy though hun & not feel at all resentful. I am sure your worries will work out but hard not knowing what they are if my words are of any use to you. Hope your friends & sister can give you that xxxxxxx

If this guy ever jeopardizes Blogilates though he’s gotta go 😉 x

    1. blogilates says:

haha love this – thanks kerry 🙂

  37. Megan says:

Love you Cassey! There are many times between work and life that I get down about working out and decide not to..but I always, and seriously I mean always, think of you when that happens and go work out. You’ve inspired me in so many ways. I found your videos in June of this year, and I honestly can say you’ve changed my life. Before, I was indifferent to working out, just living my life and being lazy. Now I make the decision to take care of my body and look better than I ever have before. You are the biggest inspiration and no guy should have you feeling down about yourself. You are gorgeous, strong, and inspiring and I know I am speaking for the whole Blogilates community when I say that we cherish you & care about you, so don’t ever feel bad for letting us in on your life. Everything will always get better, remember we are all here for you!

    P. S. I’ve been in a very serious relationship for over a year & a half, and I still have boy troubles with him, nothing serious but he’s definitely a male! So I def know how you feel!

  38. sarah says:

Fabulous vid! Where would I find a yoga mat like the purple flowery one you used? I love it!

    1. Kerry says:

i have seen them on Amazon! They do them in other colours too but I feel I should buy an oGorgeous one :-/

      1. Megan says:

This may sound stupid..but are there ogorgeous yoga mats? I’ve never seen them on the website.

        1. sarah says:

I check too and couldn’t find one. Cassie, you should design yoga mats too! 😀

          1. Megan says:

Yes! I’m so picky about my yoga mats, I know Cassey would make the perfect one!

  39. Desiree Robinson says:

Please write more about your life-your true fans want to know!!! Especially about your love life lol : ) p.s. I’m like your biggest fan

  40. Joanne says:

Cassey! I am sure the blogilates community doesn’t mind you posting things about your private life. It just makes you more approachable you know?

Sorry to hear about yours boy troubles. Men = troubles. His loss.

  41. Cassey! Don’t let any man make you feel down about yourself!! We all know you. You’re so strong you get up through anything. You can do Pilates that make me fall down after two seconds into the video. You can eat a healthy meal ALL the time and not eat junk food even if you crave it. You know how much strength that takes! You joined the bikini contest even with doubts but you still nailed that extremely hard contest …you’ve got major strength girl. And don’t let any man or anybody for that matter ruin your chance for success. In fact..go harder..get more famous…and show him what he missed out on. No one deserves to be treated wrong and I’m sorry you’re going through hard times. Think of this as a chance to make YOU stronger. Cause it’s not all about us all the time. Keep your head up! WE LOVE YOU.

  42. Hannah says:

    Hi Cassey,
I just wanted to say that, I have been doing your videos for two years now and I love them. They are wonderful and always make me feel so much better after doing one of your work outs. I loved hearing your story on here because you are such an inspiration. Its wonderful to know that there are people out there that followed their instincts and dreams and made their passion a real career, especially a strong and independent woman like you! As for the boy issues , I always say everything is for a reason. I hope it all works it’s self out. I know you can get through it. We all support you here!
Thanks so much for your amazing videos and pure girl power 🙂
    Hannah

  43. You are awesome and you are SUCH an inspiration to all of us! But ya know what? It’s totally okay if you have a blah day every once in a while! I’m glad you shared because we all feel like that from time to time depending on what’s going on in our lives…but thanks for the reminder that sometimes pushing our selves out of our comfort zones actually makes us feel better! 🙂

  44. A says:

I agree with everyone else, you’re great! In fact, it’s YOUR videos that I push myself to do when I’m down (about boy troubles or anything else) because you’re positivity makes me smile. Relationships can be complicated…but no matter what happens, know that you have a whole bunch of people out there who support you!

  45. KJ says:

Cassey, we’re all sending positive vibes your way! You’re an inspiration. And I love the phrase “sparkled with sweat.” 🙂

  46. Sara Awartani says:

Cassey! You are such an inspiration. I’ve been having boy troubles too and after a big fight last night I woke up feeling super uninspired to start my fall semester off right. Luckily I read your post, decided I can create my OWN happiness, and headed off to an early morning run and now I feel GREAT and infinitely empowered! Thanks for helping me out of a gloomy day!

    1. blogilates says:

oh I am so happy you got up and took charge of your day and your life!!!

  47. Quel says:

I feel like the people part of this community that you built, including myself, really appreciate the fact that you do all of this! Promoting a healthy lifestyle, being a positive influence, being a wonderful teacher and person, you are AMAZING!!! Having any kind of relationships, friends, family, romantic, require a lot of work to maintain and strengthen. It’s satisfying when you see the results of your good work, so don’t give up Cassey!!! Struggles make one stronger, so keep on fighting!!!

  48. Rena says:

Cassey you’re so great! Don’t let anyone (especially a boy) let you think any differently. I love working out to your videos and it’s so sad making to know you’re upset. Keep your head up :))

  49. Carmen says:

Whatever those boy troubles are, if the guy doesn’t appreciate you, it’s his loss, because you are amazing.

  50. I totally haven’t been feeling it lately either. I’m taking one week out and then I’m putting myself back in the game!

  51. Dilek says:

I’m all about keeping the private life private, BUT everybody would agree with me that the reason we love you so much is because you’re so genuine which means you never pretend and we can feel whether you are happy, excited, sad or anxious. You always help us, motivate us, inspire us “and all that good stuff”(as you say lol) and we’d be honored if for once, you’d let us help you or cheer you up or motivate you.
So FIGHTING Cassey Ho! (and here comes a cliche bomb: Men are like buses. If you miss one, another one will be coming in 5 minutes!)
You can talk freely because there will always be those of us who’d be there to cheer for your best interest!

lots of love from your student! <3

    1. Rachel D. says:

Ditto what she said!! And thanks for making me feel a little better about my own use of Britney songs to brighten up a bad day once in a while. It’s good to know I’m not alone. 🙂

You’re such a positive, gorgeous, ambitious girl that there’s no doubt everything will right itself (with this guy or the next) and you’ll come out on top and smiling. Hang in there! Will be sending positive vibes your way (except for when I’m halfway through an ab sequence and dying. 🙂 )

    2. blogilates says:

“Men are like buses. If you miss one, another one will be coming in 5 minutes!” <-- LOLLLLLL

  52. Harsha says:

There is even better things in store for you Cassey ..His loss !!

  53. maria says:

    cassey –
almost teared up reading this. i think we all knew you were an inspiration before, but this goes above and beyond. i’ve been putting off my workouts and doing things for ME because of external factors but you have reminded me that putting myself, my body first is what matters (not boy drama!) that said, i hope things get better for you and you continue to be the wonderful burst of sunshine that you are! you’ve touched so many of us – it’s truly amazing.
    best always,
    maria

    1. blogilates says:

aww – thanks and yes do not worry about me, i am just fine 🙂

  54. Kayla says:

You are my biggest inspiration right now. Sometimes you can tell yourself “I’m so weak!” but it takes a strong person to recognize those aspects of yourself and be stronger!

  55. C. says:

aww Cassey I’m so sorry to hear you’re having boy troubles! I can so relate 🙁 and I’m sending you a thousand hugs all the way across the atlantic ocean and the US straight to you! Keep strong, girl!

    1. C. says:

oh and I forgot to say:
When life knocks you down – DO A BURPEE!!!

(that one even made it on my inspiration board, lol)

  56. J says:

Chin up, Cassey! You’ve been such an inspiration to all of us here and if you’re ever feeling down, we’re here for you, just like you’ve been for us 🙂 <3

  57. Rebecca says:

Oh my gosh, idea! Make a “Pick me up” workout video to some Britney songs? Like 10 minutes of feel good workout to help everyone smile!

  58. Rebecca says:

Aw, Cassey, keep strong. You are such a wonderful person and your positivity will carry you forwards no matter what else is going on. Keep busy! LOVE YOU! Xxxx

  59. Nisey says:

    Great video Cassey! 😀

  60. Kimsari says:

Hope you’re boy troubles are getting better soon, he definateliy is a fool if he doesn’t want you and treats you right 😉 Anyhow, I think it’s great that you share personal stuff now and then… Instructors, espacially yoga and pilates instructors, always seem so serene and happy that some days it’s hard to imagine that you struggle too..so we all can relate to that 🙂 Kisses, Kim

I can compleatly relate to this post. I have been having boy trouble the past 2 days. I’m realizing that I have been allowing a guy to treat me badly and control my emotions. It’s hard when you love someone and even if they care about you sometimes their own person issues get in the way. We need to value ourselves and not beat ourselves up for loving hard. Big risks big pay offs, but also big lessons

  62. It’s just exactly how I feel. I’m just about to blog about taking a really loooong break from blogging only to realize, I enjoy blogging! Thanks Cassey. We care. 🙂

Aww we don’t mind if you need to touch on personal things here but we get if you don’t want to 🙂 But the blogilates community has your back<3

Thank you so much for this! I’ve had a pretty bad week and keep missing my workouts! You have now motivated me to just go for it and I’m about to get out of bed, go running and then do pop pilates. 🙂 xx

I think we all care to hear because you motivate and challenge us and we can’t help but feel like we kinda know you in a way if that makes sense? But at the same time I completely get not wanting to put all your life out there for everyone to see. And I don’t think Britney did write any of those lyrics lol but that’s ok that’s not really the point of Pop music.

That video is incredible! A perfect “about me” visual 🙂

I’m sorry that you’re enduring boy issues 🙁 I hope everything gets better. I’m always inspired by your positivity and determination in every situation, so I know you’ll get through it! Hang in there.
